the wholesome edge

the wholesome edge (she/her)

I'm not your usual therapist.

Rough around the edges and always real, I want you to feel heard, understood, and, when ready, set-up with a concrete plan tailor-made to bring you closer to where you want to be.

Not all discomfort is bad. The next time you feel pain - physical, emotional, spiritual - ask yourself, does this pain represent any kind of growth for me. You may be surprised.
Today I received a treatment I’ve received a dozen times before. The practitioner must have really gotten to know me as this time, they felt comfortable not holding back. And now, no surprise, it hurts.
But I’ve heard of so many stories like this that ended in people NOT going back to that treatment or NOT trying that thing again. Because they interpreted discomfort as “should be avoided at all costs”. And, in doing so, potentially cut themselves off from something that may have deeply enriched their lives.
What uncomfortable thing have you written off after the first try? “This is not for me, or I wouldn’t be this uncomfortable”?
And, Is it worth a revisit?
I love you and I see you.
