I like this time of the year when we get to look forward to longer days. Here in Victoria, BC, we have the first spring flowers blooming, the gorgeous Snowdrops! The first sight of spring can bring a sense of hope for some and some sniffles for others! This time of year is when KAPHA energy (heavy and cold) starts to rise. The heaviness of winter is finally reaching its peak and many of us can find ourselves feeling weighty and lethargic. In order to balance this sluggish energy, it is important to increase our level of activity and to eat a more simple diet with lots of invigorating spices.
This energy affects each one of us differently depending on our constitution (Primary Dosha). Knowing and understanding what your constitution is is the basis of Ayurveda. Find out what your Dosha is so that you understand what foods, lifestyle, and environment will be most supportive to you as an individual.
