Because not everything needs to be understood or solved in your head.

Some things need to be felt, experienced, and gently worked through with the body.

For many people who are deeply self-aware, thoughtful, and emotionally intelligent, talk therapy can only take them so far. Somatic therapy helps bridge the gap between insight and integration by tuning into the nervous system, breath, and body cues that hold what words can’t always access.

If you’ve done a lot of thinking, processing, and analyzing but still feel stuck, this might be an invitation to try somatic therapy.

Caught in a thought spiral again? Try these inside of scrolling when you need to shut your brain off...

1. Lay on the floor and let yourself feel heavy and grounded

2. Hum, sigh, or make a sound until your chest softens (this feels really good)

3. Go outside. Even if it’s just outside your front door for a moment (fresh air, ahhh!)

4. Put a hand on your heart and tell yourself “I’m safe right here and now”

5. Stop trying to make sense of your feelings and just breathe and hold space for what’s coming up

6. Put on a comfort show and grab a heavy blanket to get cozy under

7. Imagine gathering your thoughts into a bubble and watching it float away (keep doing this as many times as needed) 🫧
