Catherine MacGillivray can treat any adult musculoskeletal condition and also specializes in gender affirming care, pediatric physio and pelvic health for both kids and adults. Shine Therapy Services works hard to be a safe space for gender affirming care we and hope to improve accessibility to inclusive physiotherapy. Catherine helps folks across many traditional and unceded territories covering all of what is now known as BC and Alberta. We are honoured to work and play on this land and are committed to reconciliation, decolonization, and anti-racism

Janice (she/her) has been a Speech-Language Pathologist in the South Okanagan for 17 years, primarily working in healthcare settings. She has extensive experience in feeding and swallowing across the lifespan—from the NICU to end-of-life care—and is passionate about supporting individuals and families throughout their feeding journeys. Janice can also support little ones with goals around voice articulation, swallowing, and social communication.

November 13-19 is transgender awareness week. We'd like to celebrate transgender and gender expansive humans and share what a valuable presence you are in our community. We would also like to acknowledge how much more we need to do to for inclusivity (especially in healthcare).
We have been striving for Shine to be an inclusive space for trans and q***r people from day one and will continue the work. It's so important that everyone feels seen and celebrated in our clinic 🌈🫶🏻
Physio Cat has extra training in pelvic health concerns, pain from binding and post op recovery from gender affirming surgery. We also have FREE physio guides for the chest and pelvic gender affirming surgeries on our website (link in bio) in case there are barriers to you accessing direct physio care during your surgery journey🩵🩷🤍

I am so excited to share this I couldn't wait for Monday! Janice (she/her) is from Penticton. She completed her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology at Minot State University and earned her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Western Washington University.

Janice has been a Speech-Language Pathologist in the South Okanagan for 17 years, primarily working in healthcare settings. She has extensive experience in feeding and swallowing across the lifespan—from the NICU to end-of-life care—and is passionate about supporting individuals and families throughout their feeding journeys.

Outside of work, Janice enjoys spending time with her husband and their three daughters. You’ll often find her cheering at the pool or on the ski hill—embracing her other full-time role as family chauffeur!

Physio for the littles! What do babies need physio for?
💚 Torticollis and plagiocephaly (preferring to look only one direction)
💚 Birth injury such as brachial plexus injury
💚 If they've spent any time in the NICU
💚 Developmental delay/ delayed motor milestones
💚 Asymmetric movements or postures
💚 If they are having trouble tolerating tummy time
💚 Orthopedic conditions such as talipes equinovarus or hip dysplasia
💚 Neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy
💚 Any other diagnosis that may impact movement
