THIS! Here's to vibrant aging.
Aging is the result of accumulation of cellular waste, toxins, & fluids in our skin-body. Qi (vital energy) is needed in order to move blood, lymph, & fluids.
If Qi is weak, lymph, blood, & fluids become stagnant. Therefore our cells aren’t able to receive what they need in order to function in a healthy way or, at the very least, in an optimal way. Remember, aging happens on a cellular level.
This stagnated flow leads to accumulation of toxins, cellular waste, & fluids. In the face, you can see this accumulation/puffiness around the eyes, the outsides of the nose, in front of the ears, and around the jawline & the neck. Also in the texture and look of the skin. This is STAGNANT AGING.
But what happens if you prevent that accumulation, or, at the very least, reduce it? Can that be done? If so, how?
The answer is Yes, and that would be the road to VIBRANT AGING. I’m only speaking of terms of skin in here, to keep it simple, but it does apply to our whole body as well.
This is what Wholistic Esthetics is all about. We work with high-vibe skin products that support Qi, and that don’t add to the accumulation. We also work with advanced face massage techniques & tools (like Gua Sha and Kansa & such) to help transform the traffic jams (tension & scar tissue are 2 examples) that prevent or stagnate the flow of Qi, blood, lymph, & fluids.
In addition, these techniques also help clear out years of accumulation in the skin that is the long-term result of these traffic jams to flow. It’s not at all uncommon to see a client look 10-15 years younger after a single session; most definitely after a few sessions. Not to mention how they feel 😌
And, most importantly, we work with supporting a healthier view of aging, a wellness approach to aging, to connect the dots, to show how it’s all connected.
There’s no magic pill. There’s no fountain of youth. No cutting edge ingredient or superfood that’s going to do it. It’s simply good self care.
That’s the simple and not-so simple side of it. There are many mental & emotional hurdles to good self care; or as a colleague puts it - tending to one’s needs. I think a good first step is journaling about these challenges (learning to listen to our own body), talking them over with a supportive friend, praying/meditating about them (supportive connection is also very important for flow), & finding a wellness practitioner (or 2 or 3) with whom you resonate in order to help you with your goals ♥️
