For entrepreneur John Fenech, launching Union5 inc., an Ottawa-based construction and contracting company, was as much about scratching an itch as filling a niche. "I wanted to do something big," he says. "Not so much in terms of moneymaking, but big in terms of impact. "I really believe we can change the way clients experience a renovation". John, who also operates a therapy business has taken a service oriented approach to the very different world of Construction and Contracting. He knew that moving out of his comfort zone would be a challenge, but he saw it as a matter of fulfilling a personal need to help people experience home improvement in a different way. Union5 is "totally different!" Getting to know each and every customer personally is really important for me. I find myself spending a lot of time talking to my customers, understanding what it is that they want to create, this helps us to design a space TOGETHER that is perfect!" John's extensive experience with customer service combined with expert knowledge of all aspects of residential and commercial construction has proven valuable in successfully completing several projects around the city.
