When I describe to my clients what I am doing during a healing session whether I am using direct touch or not, I say, I am listening. With my bodywork sessions I am listening to what I am feeling with my fingers, and hands. Thank you, Alexis Shin Institute for your clear description of what we're tuning into as practitioners as we conduct a Jin Shin session.
🌟What Are We Feeling for in the Art of Jin Shin?🌟
💫When we place our hands we feel for pulsation in the Safety Energy Locations through the fingertips, palms, or thumbs. We hold two separate areas or SELs, and as the locations begin to harmonize, their pulse begins to synchronize.
💫After a few minutes (sometimes less), there will be a harmonious, even pulse between the two SELs. Stay with it until you feel the transformation of the energy’s movement.
💕The pulse feels like a gentle heartbeat. It can be very slight and soft, or it may be louder, slower, or faster. The speed and quality of the pulse will give you more information about what is happening energetically in the body.
💫Distinct from the pulse of blood in the veins, the pulse we feel in the Art of Jin Shin is the energy spiraling to the core and back to the surface—from the skin’s surface to the deepest parts of the human organism, our skeletal system, and back.
⌛ The length of time one holds the SEL depends on how quickly or slowly the energy moves from surface to core and back to the surface again.
