We often speak of the wonders of modern medicine, often without giving credit to the avant-garde practitioners who came before us. I’m just learning about Emanuel Swedenborg and his philosophical approach to life, and who we are as human beings. There’s so much wisdom in the teachings of our forefathers. Who have you read lately that offers you a new perspective from which to view the mystery of life?

In The Divinity Project, we come together in community, we support each other's journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth. As a collective, we safely explore the depths of our existence striving to emerge en-lightened, joy-full, and em-powered. In community we acquire the resources to continue to move towards a full embodiment of our true Divine selves.

At the end of a session, clients report an overall sense of improvement in their state of being, not just in the area they were having the challenge. Everything is connected, and the ripple effect will be positive or detrimental depending on the stimulus.

At the start of a session, I allow time for a consultation that may unveil a larger canvas to “work” with. During the session the body becomes the conductor, sometimes leading both my client and myself into unanticipated areas of exploration. The result is always an object lesson in interconnectedness.

Have the fundamental principles of leisure and recreation been swallowed up in the commercial global wellness trend? Karl Spracklen, researcher and professor of Leisure Studies, states, “our leisure spaces and leisure choices are increasingly controlled, commodified and privatised.” Spracklen insists that we need to fight this trend.

With the many challenges we face in the world today, one might consider the topic of leisure to be less worthy of our attention. However, when we consider the role of leisure in its ability to serve as a coping mechanism for life’s adversities, as well as it being, according to Aristotle, “a necessity, both for growth in goodness and for the pursuit of political activities,” perhaps we should reconsider its importance in our lives, decommodify it and study how to ensure its universal access.

I've just started the Winter 2024 university term teaching “Concepts of Recreation and Leisure” and I’d like to take you along the three-month journey as we define terms, question social constructs, highlight accessibility issues, reflect on influencing factors, and contemplate philosophical viewpoints.

I hope you’ll join in the discussion.

When I describe to my clients what I am doing during a healing session whether I am using direct touch or not, I say, I am listening. With my bodywork sessions I am listening to what I am feeling with my fingers, and hands. Thank you, Alexis Shin Institute for your clear description of what we're tuning into as practitioners as we conduct a Jin Shin session.

🌟What Are We Feeling for in the Art of Jin Shin?🌟

💫When we place our hands we feel for pulsation in the Safety Energy Locations through the fingertips, palms, or thumbs. We hold two separate areas or SELs, and as the locations begin to harmonize, their pulse begins to synchronize.

💫After a few minutes (sometimes less), there will be a harmonious, even pulse between the two SELs. Stay with it until you feel the transformation of the energy’s movement.

💕The pulse feels like a gentle heartbeat. It can be very slight and soft, or it may be louder, slower, or faster. The speed and quality of the pulse will give you more information about what is happening energetically in the body.

💫Distinct from the pulse of blood in the veins, the pulse we feel in the Art of Jin Shin is the energy spiraling to the core and back to the surface—from the skin’s surface to the deepest parts of the human organism, our skeletal system, and back.

⌛ The length of time one holds the SEL depends on how quickly or slowly the energy moves from surface to core and back to the surface again.

You don't have a soul.
You are a Soul.
You have a body.
-C.S. Lewis

The body comes downloaded with all the information of the soul. I'm back to the computer analogy again but it works well. I describe the body as a computer that stores information throughout its system.

Now, I invite you to think of the soul as the database of your every existence. From this database one can obtain guidance and encouragement as they journey through life.

As souls who have bodies we are subjected to the workings of the physical world. Being in the physical makes it challenging for many of us to engage with the hidden dimensions of our expanded reality.

At a glance, the tangible world of matter seems to be all that exists. However, more and more, scientists are exploring and trying to make sense of the intangible aspects of the world in which we live.

On an individual level, we can, and I encourage you to do so, explore our own unseen aspects. One way to do so is to engage with your higher self. The higher self is the aspect of your consciousness that has direct access to your soul, as well as the other aspects of the Divine realm.

Your higher self is the gateway to your database, which contains higher knowledge, and information about your previous lives. Accessing your database allows you to potentially uncover the talents and unique attributes of your soul make-up. Awareness of these gifts and the essence of your Being can help you lead a more fulfilling life.

How to connect with your Higher Self? Find a quiet moment to be with yourself. Settle into a comfortable state. Ask Creator to protect and guide you in your experience, and set the intention to be open to receiving Divine inspiration. Don't expect a booming "Godlike" voice to start making pronouncements, rather feel into what you're experiencing. Perhaps set the intention to receive an answer to an important life question and then look for the signs either in the moment or any time after your session.

Good luck.

I find it challenging to provide a short simple response when people ask me what I do.

I certainly don't have a conventional job description but then again I'm not living a conventional life, for the most part.

Metaphysical healing was not what I set out in the world to do, it was an evolutionary process.

In the early stages of my practice, I was presented with the choice of taking the proverbial red pill or the blue pill. I think it's quite clear which pill I chose.😉

Do you consider yourself to be operating outside of the conventional norm? Is it easy describing your work to others? Do they understand it? Let me know in the comments below.
