I recently heard about the “Rubber Ball and Glass Ball” theory and it really changed how I see my priorities.
Life is like juggling a bunch of balls every day — work, house, friends, commitments, and family. The idea is that some of those balls are rubber, and some are glass.
The rubber ones can drop. You can miss a workout, answer an email later, reschedule plans, or have a messy house for a day. They’ll bounce back.
But the glass ones?
Those are the moments that don’t come back the same.
Time with your kids. Time with your partner. The little everyday memories that quietly become the big ones.
I’m learning that it’s okay if the rubber balls fall sometimes.
Because protecting the glass ones is what really matters.
