The Nigerian Pharmacists association was formed by a group of like minded, well meaning pharmacists of Nigerian origin whose original intention was to formulate a forum for the exchange of ideas between colleagues with a view to aiding health care educational advancement, both within the communities they reside in as well as their home country, Nigeria. Some of the ideas discussed included networking with other professionals (such as MD's, Nurses, Paramedics, Dentists, e.t.c), to foster the promotion of educational seminars, provide educational materials for the institutions of higher learning in Nigeria, liaise with the professional bodies regulating pharmacy practice in Nigeria by sharing ideas and working alongside appropriate regulatory authorities to both influence proper practice of pharmacy and enhance health care provision to the populace, both here in America and in Nigeria.
