International Women’s Day always makes me pause and reflect.

For a long time, I thought the way I felt was simply part of being a woman, tired, foggy, stretched between work, family and the invisible list constantly running in the background of life.

Over time I realised that women across so many different life stages share similar experiences. That feeling of not quite being themselves, but often being told to simply push through. Today felt like the right moment to share this reflection and the story behind why I started The Tenth.

I’ve written a longer piece on the blog, and I’m incredibly grateful to the women in this community who continue to share their stories with us.

Small wins may not call for confetti cannons, but they can still spark powerful shifts when we accept who we are—and where we are—right now.

I kept seeing posts about goals, fresh starts, and “I’m ready”. And all I could think about was how many women I know are coming into January already tired.

Not because they did the holidays wrong, but because December asked more of them, not less.

We wrote this piece to put some language around that feeling. To explain why things can feel different than expected, and why that’s not a motivation issue or a personal failing.

The good news is this: you don’t need to overhaul your life to feel better. Promise.

Often it’s about understanding what your body needs in order to feel steadier again, and giving it small chances to switch off, right where you are in life.

That’s what this piece is really about.
Starting the year in a way that supports you, so there’s room for energy, clarity, and more of that delicious ‘feel good’ to build naturally over time.
