Tomorrow is the Lakeland 50!
10 months of talking and worrying about it, 7 months of training for it, juggling work, horses and childcare.
My training has included 821k distance covered since mid January 2019 and a number of races
🔸Forest 5m
🔸Poynton 10k
🔸Stockport Trail Half Marathon
🔸Belvoir Trail Marathon
🔸Manchester Marathon (my 3hr 30m finally getting me to the london Marathon 🤞🏼 in 2019)
🔸1 training ultra distance
🔸The Lakeland 55k Ultra Marathon
WHY? I’m not 💯 sure, I like to be competitive, not with others so much but I enjoy a challenge, it keeps me focused, engaged and happy!
Running for me is my down time. Time to think, headspace and meditation!
Since the Original Mountain Marathon, (OMM) left us stranded unaccounted for over night in 70 mile an hour winds in October 🙈 I never take it for granted that I will finish a race so fingers crossed and best foot 🦶 forward tomorrow.
The best advice will be remembered at many points tomorrow I’m sure, ‘just keep putting one foot in front of the other until you reach the finish line!
