Constantly Saying Yes Comes at a Price

Those who always agree might get short-term recognition but long-term problems. Because those who don’t unlearn saying no...

· are more easily exploited,
· find it harder to assert themselves,
· become emotionally more dependent on others,
· end up overwhelmed sooner or later.

Of course, there are moments when help is appropriate or necessary. But here too, the rule is: Balance is key. Those who don't set boundaries become perpetual helpers and often at their own expense.

Does this sound familiar? Guilt, insecurity, and the bad feeling of disappointing others. Because we don't want to seem impolite or even selfish in refusing someone’s request. Helping is considered a good thing. And social connection is one of our deepest human needs.

These barriers aren’t personal flaws but rather the invisible structures of a world that hasn’t always made room for women’s power. Once you name them, something clicks! You start to recognize the script you’ve been given and realize you’re not playing small because you lack talent; you’ve just been conditioned to do so.

The more you respect your own boundaries, the more respect you develop for yourself. And from that arises true strength — not through self-optimization, but through self-acceptance.
