We’re back online with the same message.

Antibiotics no be groundnut!

You wouldn’t eat medicine like it’s a snack, right? But that’s exactly what happens when antibiotics are taken without prescription.
This misuse is fueling antimicrobial resistance (AMR)—a silent pandemic that’s making common infections harder to treat.
At AMR Watch Cameroon, we’re committed to raising awareness about the dangers of antibiotic misuse.

Remember:
Only take antibiotics when prescribed by a qualified health professional.

Never share or self-medicate with leftover antibiotics.

Misusing antibiotics increases resistance, making future infections harder and more expensive to treat.

Let’s act together to preserve the power of antibiotics.

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is a serious public health threat, it has been called the "Silent Pandemic".
It is an Umbrella term to describe Resistance of all Micro-organisms to treatment.
It occurs when drugs which were once effective in treating diseases caused by Micro-organisms are no more effective.

More and more people die from resistant infections yearly with the Elderly, Very Young being the most victims and yet most people haven't heard of Antimicrobial Resistance

Our irrational use of antibiotics, lack of legislation, poor prescription habits have played a major role in promoting the occurrence of resistance.

The severity and complexity of AMR says that no one sector can solve the issue and therefore is a Multisectoral challenge.
It doesn't belong only in discussions of health experts.

You Sir, Accountant, Lawyer, Magistrate, Psychologist, Sociologist, Physician, Pharmacist, Mother, Student everyone has a role to play.
We are all responsible for this.

To this, AMR watch asks that you lend your face, your voice, to create awarenes this November.
