Dr. Biaka Memorial Foundation(DBMF) Mobilizes 500+ for World Diabetes Day 2025

On Saturday November 15, 2025 , DBMF & Biaka Hospital, brought together over 500 participants to mark World Diabetes Day 2025 under the theme “Together for Healthier Workplaces and Learning Spaces.”

The event featured an awareness walk , health talks, testimonials, and free screenings.

Dr. Biaka Memorial Foundation Gives Back to the Community.

On Thursday, November 6, the Dr. Biaka Memorial Foundation (DBMF), in partnership with Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB), carried out a Human Investment Clean-up Campaign at the Mile 17 Motor Park as part of activities leading up to the 2025 Graduation Ceremony.

This initiative aimed to give our volunteers and students an opportunity to positively impact their community through service - a core value that complements the professional training they receive at BUIB.

Together, we continue to uphold Dr. Biaka’s legacy of service, excellence, and community development.

Vacances Sans SIDA 2025 - Idenau Mobile Van Sensitization Campaign

Today the local population of Idenau benefited from the Aids Free Holidays free HIV and Hepatitis sensitization campaign organized by the Ministry of Public Health (MinSante) in partnership with the Doctor Biaka Memorial Foundation (DBMF) and the entire BIAKA Group.

During the outreach , the DBMF team also paid courtesy visits to the Mayor of the Idenau Municipality and the Catholic Priests to share the impactful work of BIAKA University Institute and the Foundation. During these visits, we also provided some information on ongoing admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year.

BIAKA University Institute of Buea is currently attending a forum that features a series of thematic presentations plus an extensive deliberation on the layout of private higher education following the July 2023 Orientation Law in Cameroon at the Yaounde Conference Centre. The Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo presided over the opening of the 3rd edition of the forum that seeks to promote student entrepreneurship in Private Higher Institutions of Learning in Cameroon. The platform has as reflection, “Student-Entrepreneur in Private Education in Cameroon: From Incubation to Business Creation”.

Doctor Biaka Memorial Foundation wins CDA Humanitarian Award 2025

Saturday, July 26, marked a memorable milestone for the Dr. Biaka Memorial Foundation (DBMF) and the entire Group during the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Cameroon Dance Academy (CDA) and the CDA Awards 2025.

DBMF received the prestigious CDA Humanitarian Award, in recognition of our unwavering commitment to igniting hope and empowering communities through education, healthcare, talent development, and more.

Frank Ayuk, a first-year nursing student at BUIB and a volunteer with DBMF received two awards and was named Overall Best Student at the CDA Awards 2025.

Enow Cherinuelle, from the School of Management Sciences and also a DBMF volunteer, was awarded Most Active CDA Batch 1 Student.

Together, we continue to transform lives and build stronger communities.

International Sickle Cell Awareness 2025 – Event Recap

On Saturday, June 21st, 2025, the Doctor Biaka Memorial Foundation, in partnership with the Chutzpah Foundation and Biaka Hospital, commemorated World Sickle Cell Awareness Day at BIAKA University Institute of Buea.

The event featured an International Awareness Summit, free genotype and blood type testing, and a blood donation drive. The youth-led campaign aimed to raise awareness, fight stigma, and promote equitable healthcare for sickle cell warriors.

Over 300 attendees participated, making it a successful and impactful day of education, advocacy, and community action.
