SHARON ❗❗❗
My name is Sharon, I am 25 years old. And I live with HIV/AIDS. Yes, you read that right. Me, a young woman like you, with dreams, hopes, and plans. But also with an illness that has changed my life forever.
I remember the day I got the news. It felt like my world was collapsing. I felt alone, lost, and abandoned. I thought my life was over, that I wouldn't be able to do anything anymore, that I wouldn't be able to be anything anymore.
But over time, I learned to accept my reality. I learned to live with this illness that has become a part of me. I learned to take care of myself, to get tested regularly, to take my medication. And I learned not to let this illness define me.
I am more than HIV/AIDS. I am a woman, a daughter, a sister, a friend. I am a person with passions, interests, and dreams. And I want you to know that you could be in my place. You could be that person living with HIV/AIDS. But you can also be that person who chooses to live, to fight, to resist.
So, I want to tell you something. I want to tell you that you are not alone. That you are not abandoned. That you can live with HIV/AIDS, but that you can also live despite HIV/AIDS.
And I want to encourage you to do something. I want to encourage you to get tested, to seek help, to talk about your illness. Because by talking, by sharing, we can free ourselves from fear, shame, and loneliness.
