*Hello Royalties,*

Yesterday marked World Peace Day, a reminder for us to reflect on the importance of peace in our lives and communities. This week, letโ€™s dedicate some time in our classrooms to emphasize the significance of peace, not only as a concept but as a practice we can embody daily.

In our current situation where complicated unresolved conflicts abound, itโ€™s essential to choose peace over drama. One effective way to promote peace is by encouraging open dialogue among our students. *Creating a safe space for communication* allows them to express their feelings and thoughts, which can help resolve conflicts peacefully. Additionally, *teaching conflict resolution strategies* is vital. Introducing role-playing exercises can be a fun and effective way for students to practice these skills, enabling them to navigate disagreements without resorting to violence.

*Fostering empathy* is another crucial aspect of building peace. By helping students understand diverse perspectives, we can build stronger connections and reduce misunderstandings. *Engaging students in community service* or projects that promote social harmony can also instill a sense of responsibility towards peace. These hands-on experiences not only benefit the community but also empower students to become proactive contributors to a peaceful society. Incorporating mindfulness practices into our routines allows students to reflect on their actions and the impact they have on others, cultivating a peaceful mindset.

Importantly, we must recognize the vital role *we women* play in building peace. Women are often the primary caregivers in families, teaching values of compassion, cooperation, and conflict resolution to the next generation. Beyond the home, women frequently take on leadership roles in community organizations, advocating for peaceful solutions and promoting dialogue among diverse groups. Historically, women have been at the forefront of peace movements, and their unique perspectives and experiences are invaluable in shaping inclusive peace initiatives. As educators and leaders, we have the opportunity to inspire young girls to become advocates for peace, encouraging them to voice their opinions and take active roles in their communities.

_Peace be with Ye!_๐Ÿ˜Š

๐ŸŒŸ Raising Awareness on Sickle Cell with 2nde Learners ๐ŸŒŸ

During the last school term, we organized an engaging and informative session with 2nde learners to raise awareness about Sickle Cell Disease. The activity was aimed at educating students on this genetic blood disorder while fostering empathy and understanding for those affected.

๐Ÿ’ก Key Highlights:

Understanding Sickle Cell: Learners delved into the causes, symptoms, and management of sickle cell disease, gaining a clear understanding of its impact on the body.

Myths vs. Facts: The session provided an opportunity to address and dispel common misconceptions about sickle cell, encouraging informed conversations.

Healthy Living Tips: Students were guided on ways to maintain health, such as staying hydrated, eating nutritious meals, and seeking medical care when necessary.

The Power of Empathy: Through interactive activities, learners reflected on the challenges faced by individuals with sickle cell and discussed how they can provide meaningful support.

๐Ÿ“š Why It Matters:
Empowering learners with knowledge about sickle cell disease helps build a community that values compassion, inclusivity, and informed decision-making. The session left a lasting impact, encouraging students to advocate for health awareness in their circles.

Letโ€™s continue to spread the light of understanding and support for those living with sickle cell disease! ๐Ÿ’š

๐ŸŒŸ Empowering Through Knowledge: ELT Women Taking the Lead on Sickle Cell Awareness ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š

Recently, some incredible women from the ELT community participated in specialized training on raising awareness about sickle cell disease. The focus was on equipping them with the tools and strategies to sensitize learners and colleagues about this important health issue.

Now, they're gearing up to cascade this knowledge by training others in schools, fostering understanding, empathy, and support. Through their efforts, schools will become hubs of awareness and action, ensuring that both educators and students are informed and empowered.

Together, weโ€™re building a stronger, more compassionate community, one session at a time. Let's give them a round of applause for their dedication! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช

๐ŸŒŸ Together for Hope: Educating Minds, Empowering Warriors ๐ŸŒŸ

Sickle cell disease is more than a health challenge; itโ€™s a call for compassion, understanding, and unity. At ELTWC, we believe education is a powerful tool to create awareness and build a supportive community for sickle cell warriors.

๐Ÿ’ก Why does it matter?
Awareness helps us break the barriers of stigma and ignorance. By learning about this condition, we empower ourselves and others to provide better care, advocate for better policies, and inspire hope for those living with it.

๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿซ What can we do?

Teach our children about empathy and inclusivity.

Support initiatives for better healthcare and resources.

Be a voice of encouragement and strength to families affected.

๐Ÿ’š Together, we can make a difference. Letโ€™s educate, advocate, and inspire hope for a brighter tomorrow.

๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š Breaking the Silence on Sickle Cell Disease in Our Schools

Education is the key to understanding, compassion, and empowerment. Today, we shine a light on the importance of sensitizing learners about sickle cell disease, a condition that affects millions worldwide.

At GHS Mendong, V.P. Adeline led a transformative campaign to raise awareness about this critical issue. By educating our students, weโ€™re not only promoting early diagnosis and healthy habits but also breaking the stigma surrounding sickle cell disease.

Together, letโ€™s build a community where everyone feels supported and informed. Letโ€™s champion awareness, compassion, and proactive care! ๐Ÿ’ช
