Why Our Assessments Might Look "Basic"
When observing our final assessments, you might notice that some tasks appear basic—like sorting colors, counting objects, or identifying simple commands. This is intentional and central to our philosophy!
The reason our assessments focus heavily on these foundational, basic lessons is simple:
1️⃣ Functional Independence: We are prioritizing skills that directly translate into daily life. If a child can reliably follow a two-step command or sort objects, they are better equipped to help with chores, follow safety instructions, and manage self-care.
2️⃣ Building Blocks: True, sustainable progress requires a rock-solid foundation. We ensure absolute mastery of basic skills before introducing more complex tasks, as weakness in the basics severely limits future growth.
3️⃣ Individualized Goals: What looks basic to one person may be the highest level of achievement for a pupil working through significant cognitive or developmental barriers.
We don't just measure abstract knowledge; we measure the progress toward a more independent life. And that always starts with the basics!
