The patient, Lele (pseudonym), is only 2 and a half years old. He has a congenital giant black hairy nevus on the top of his head, measuring about 10 cm × 14 cm and covering most of his scalp.
Dr. Hu Zhiqi, Chief Consultant of the GuangdongCLLIFORD Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Center and Chief Physician of Plastic Surgery, together with his team, developed a personalized surgical plan for Lele. In mid-April, Lele underwent the first-stage operation of inserting a scalp tissue expander, followed by three months of flap care. In early July, Lele received the second-stage operation, successfully removing the expander while completely excising the nevus and repairing the wound with a flap.
After the operation, the transplanted flap's color and texture were close to those of the surrounding healthy skin, and it could even grow hair. After full recovery, the difference is barely visible to the naked eye. Lele has recovered well and has been discharged smoothly.
