About pranayama
An essential part of the yoga class is the practice of breathing exercises (pranayama).
Prana is the vital energy while yama means expansion, control and mastery. Pranayama is the control and expansion of vital energy.
The energy we need to live is mainly taken from our breath. Other sources of energy are food, water and the sun. Through breathing we charge the body (solar plexus) with energy (prana).
Through yogic breathing we learn to use 100% lung capacity. This is the maximum expansion of the rib cage. The greater the amount of oxygen, the greater the amount of energy. By controlling the prana (vital energy) we will have control over the mind and emotions.

Deseamos compartir con todos sobre el significado de la palabra yoga, el hatha yoga y los principios en los que se basa esta práctica.
Yoga es una palabra que procede del sanscrito y significa unión. La unión del individuo con el todo, tanto con su interior como con su exterior. Mediante la práctica constante de esta disciplina el individuo realiza la consciencia de esta unidad.
El hatha yoga es una sub-escuela del raja yoga. La obra más antigua y completa que existe sobre hatha yoga es el Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Hatha yoga significa la unión entre Ha y Tha, el sol y la luna, entre la energía masculina y la femenina, o dicho de otra manera, entre prana y apana. El hatha yoga fortalece el cuerpo y armoniza y equilibra todo el sistema nervioso. La meta última del hatha yoga es lograr que el cuerpo este apto para la meditación.
El hatha yoga se basa en cinco principios básicos:
1. Asanas: ejercicio adecuado
2. Pranayama: respiración adecuada
3. Savasana: relajación adecuada
4. Dieta saludable
5. Pensamiento positivo.

We want to share with you about the meaning of the word yoga, hatha yoga and the principles on which this practice is based.
Yoga is a word that comes from Sanskrit and means union. The union of the individual with the whole, both with his interior and with his exterior. Through the constant practice of this discipline the individual realizes the consciousness of this unit.
Hatha yoga is a sub-school of raja yoga. The oldest and most complete work on hatha yoga is the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Hatha yoga means the union between Ha and Tha, the sun and the moon, between masculine and feminine energy, or in other words, between prana and apana. Hatha yoga strengthens the body and harmonizes and balances the entire nervous system. The ultimate goal of hatha yoga is to make the body fit for meditation.
Hatha yoga is based on five basic principles:

2. Pranayama: proper breathing
3. Savasana: proper relaxation
4. Healthy diet
