During a good visibility we could see coasts of Africa over the sea on one side and continuing Europe coasts on another. Looking at the Earth from this perspective presented an idea of our planet being fragile and definitely not unlimited as it might seem if we only see up to the closest hill, move around our neighbourhoods and never see the Earth as whole.

Everything happening around the world (both good and bad) is closer than we think, has a bigger impact on our personal lives than we would expect and definitely has what to do with our own future. It is not someone else’s problem, it is ours!

Felling guilty for having more options, more money, more possibilities or more freedom then someone in need will not help. But using these privilegies to do best we can in our personal lives will!
Paradoxally, the people who have the biggest power and the most money in the world are many times those who are behing the most destructive decisions impacting everyone around the world..

It is our responsibility to nourish our bodies with quality food, sun, good sleep, movement, meaningful activity and working relationships if we want to contribute to some change.

— Stage of our physical and mental health will direct how we respond to the world.

Před nedávnem jsem si prošla snad nejhorší fází co se spánkové deprivace týká. Po týdnu víceméně bez spánku se moje tělo dostalo do stavu, kdy už jsem se vedle syna nemohla vůbec uvolnit a i když on spal, já koukala hodiny do tmy ve stresu z toho, že nespím, ani když to jde. Došlo mi, že tohle už nezpraví jenom to, že půjdu spát o dvě hodiny dříve. Moje tělo potřebovalo extra podporu během celého dne, extra uzemnění a jistotu, že má z čeho brát, aby si mohlo v noci odpočinout. Za ty tři roky přerušovaného spánku jsem si potvrdila, že neexistuje žádná podoba stravování nebo super doplněk stravy, který by spánek mohl nahradit. Avšak to, jak se člověk stravuje a žije udělá zásadní rozdíl v tom, jaké dopady může spánková deprivace mít. Právě při extrémním stresu potřebuje tělo mimořádnou péči, aby nemuselo zbytečně zůstávat ve fight or flight stavu. Nevím, kde bych byla, kdybych své tělo během takového stresu nepodporovala dostatkem výživného jídla, uváženou suplementací, zpomalením a přijetím, že je v pořádku soustředit se pouze na základní potřeby své rodiny.
V příspěvku je seznam věcí, které mi pomáhají s kvalitou spánku - ať už je velmi přerušovaný neustálým kojením a péčí o dítě, nebo ne. Cílem není si během dne odškrtnout vše, nebo se dokonce stresovat tím, že jsem něco nestihla, ale zkoušet, co mi kdy funguje a pomalu jednotlivé rituály začlenit do své spánkové hygieny a péči o sebe ☺️🌞

Zdraví našeho metabolismu vypovídá o tom, jak efektivní je naše tělo v rámci tvorby energie ze zdroje (zažité jídlo, sluneční svit,..) a jak je schopné je využít pro fungování (aka zdraví imunitního systému, pohyb, přemýšlení, produkce hormonů, zažívání, regenerace tkání a mnoha dalších funkcí).

Pokud se našemu tělu nedostanou potřebné podmínky pro zdraví, metabolismus tyto základní funkce nezvládne podporovat. Poruchy štítné žlázy společně s dalšími chronickými problémy, nebo dokonce nemocemi jsou výsledkem metabolického dluhu. 

Problémy s váhou, které jsou primárně asociované s kvalitou metabolismu (jako „zpomalující se“ tempo, kterým pálíme kalorie) je pouze sekundární efekt nefungujícího systému.

Ne každý s poruchou metabolismu se musí potýkat s nadváhou. Způsobů, jak k nám tělo může komunikovat potřebu dovyživení je je mnoho, slide right pro znaky pomalého metabolismu.

The internet, books and all sorts of courses are pack with overwhelming amount of information about how to parent. From each corner we can get supportive or discouraging advice on how to get the child to obey or not to create a trauma for them, how to “set the limits” or show unconditional love and mainly how not to fail.. Thank god for the fact that there is even a discussion about this topic and mothers (and dads) can get inspired, are free to choose their path and break the patterns..But all this wisdom is useless if the mother doesn’t have energy, if she is constantly stressed out, impatient and nervous, never present or even struggling with various health problems (read “hungry and undernourished “). I believe that nourishment must to come first. 💪🏻 Nourished woman who is taking the responsibility for her own health will naturally find her place in motherhood and parenting, will embrace the role of the mother with ease, stay calm and open. Nourishment is key especially in the hard seasons - and that definitely motherhood is (sometimes on the top of sleep deprivation and breastfeeding).

If you don’t know where to start, just eat meals with your kids and always snack when the they are snacking while shooting for the best quality nutrient dense foods. You need it as much as they do! Nourishment is a form of self-care! 🌞

I am not a mother and wife who does not make mistakes and has no dark days by all means but I do find a massive difference in my approach to my kids and husband if I am nourished and strong instead of hungry and tired.

I believe every mum can find a freedom within food, parenting approach and enjoy motherhood ❤️. Happy Mother’s Day!

My essentials 😋

A few basic sample items I will always travel with or repurchase when travelling to keep supporting my family’s health even during holidays:

🐚 toxin-free soap (can be used for hands and body) and multipurpose liquid soap (dishes, hair and more)
🐚collagen (addition to meals, yogurt or drinks)
🐚gelatine (for gummies)
🐚some supplements (especially vit. E, B and liver capsules)
🐚salt (cooking and water remineralisation)
🐚coconuts oil (good in kitchen or on the skin after a sunbathing)
🐚snack box and reusable water bottle, spoon and fork
🐚 travel water filter
🐚 dried fruit (as an emergency snack)

We always buy after arrival:
🐚 milk
🐚 carrots (for the Pay Peat’s Carrot salad)
🐚 orange juice
🐚 butter
🐚 olive oil
🐚 fruit
🐚 cheeses
🐚 yogurt
🐚 eggs
🐚 maple syrup or honey
🐚 coffee (of course 🤷🏼‍♀️).and the rest depends on the availability and on what we plan on cooking

We don’t stress too much about trying to find the best quality of everything for all costs when we travel. But it is important for us to continue with our basic habits to fell good in our bodies and minds to enjoy the holiday as much as we can 🌞

I never forget to get my bed-time snack! 😍🤤 While breastfeeding and waking up at least three times a night it is super important for me to get extra calories so I can squeeze the most from the sleep my baby gives me 🙏🏻 I always go for easy to digest foods and combine carbs and some protein to support my thyroid, metabolism a stress resilience (in this case the breastfeeding, broken sleep and darkness). 🍑🧈🌘 Especially for breastfeeding mamas who’s sleep is not perfect don’t be afraid of eating late! If anything, there might be a chance we get fat from high cortisol and inadequate rest, not from a snack before a long night shift 🌙🤱🏼
