Dearest Jaspr community and supporters,

It's with a very heavy heart that we announce that we will be closing the doors to Jaspr on Monday, 20 August 2018. The costs - both financial and personal - of keeping the community afloat have simply become impossible to manage for our small team.

Seeing our dream come alive in such a beautiful way over the past three years has been one of the biggest pleasures of our lives. We very sincerely thank each and every one of you for your love and support. We'll remember the times we shared together for the rest of our lives.

We'd also like to take this moment to send an extra big thanks to all of you who we've worked, sparred and collaborated with over the years: Tobi, Tom, Anke and the EXIST program, Bänz, the MassChallenge team, our Kickstarter backers, Markus, Holger, Louis, Camille & Gordon, Jonas, Jeff, Marta, Tascha, Elodie, Egle, Bao, Regina & Sedik, Henok, Angelene & Lenny, and last but not least, our families and partners without whose support we would never have made it as far as we did. We apologise if we've forgotten anyone!

Although the time for Jaspr is coming to an end, we passionately believe that trade and the sharing economy has a bright future, and we'll be following it closely wherever we go.

Upon the closure of our platforms, please note that all personal data will be permanently deleted (in compliance with GDPR law). If you have any further questions or comments regarding this - or Jaspr's closure in general - please contact us via our page or info@jasprtrades.com. Both will remain open for some time beyond the closing of our website and mobile apps.

The team have done quite a few trades since our launch, but our favourites usually revolve around food. That's why we're plotting how we can get our hands on this delicious looking vegetarian South-East Asian food, cooked by Mydul. In return, he's looking for some help in learning Spanish.

I cook mostly vegetarian food combined with different s**ces with healing power (turmeric, chili, clove, cardamon, cinnamon, coriander seed, black seed, cumin and so on) and other health boosting ingredients. I grind my s**ces myself. It actually tastes as well (...to me). - Trading Now on Jaspr

Equilibrium - A Cash-Free Art Auction is now done and dusted! A big thanks to everyone who came to the closing last night, and to the events that took place throughout the exhibition week.

It was fun and very interesting to hear Henok go into detail about the concept of each artwork, and to discuss which trade proposal he felt matched each piece best.
In summary, Henok swapped his artworks with 10 happy people, and in the process picked up a bunch of things that he really needed, including a bike, furniture, an exhibition space in Mitte, art, German language help, a record player and electronics.

A huge thanks again to Henok for creating and contributing such amazing art, and for his energy, positivity and creativity throughout the project.
