Join us for an evening of sensorial exploration through the medium of clay.
Clay, one of the oldest materials used by humans, has been used for thousands of years for utilitarian and creative purposes. Studies have found the use of clay to be very useful in treating anxiety, Major Depressive Disorder, mood disorders, and reducing stress. Conscious and unconscious awarenesses come alive through the act of working, or playing, with clay.

We will begin the evening with a short mindfulness exercise followed by creation. In small groups and in the larger group, we will share any awarenesses we come in contact with. A short presentation will also be available on the history and benefits of using this medium.

“Clay work promotes expression of mood and feeling. It allows the clients to experiment with texture and touch by molding, shaping and manipulating the clay. Pounding and kneading the clay offers a healthy way to exert excess energy. Gently molding, stroking and smoothing it lessens stress and anxiety” (Buchalter 116).

Hosts for the evening
The evening will be hosted by Psychotherapist Aglaia Michelakis and artist / architect Agnija Rubene.

For any questions, feel free to text Aglaia directly at 31 31 16 69.

The term ‘triggers’ is used to describe experiences that make you feel anxious or withdrawn – and ‘glimmers’ to describe experiences that make you feel safe and connected, as coined by Deb Dana, a clinician, consultant, and lecturer specializing in complex trauma.

Join for an evening where we explore this theme, through a short presentation, a hands-on activity and conversation.

Tomorrow, June 27, join us for this free art workshop on the topic of self love, at the Blom Cafe of Depressionsforeningen in the heart of Copenhagen. Save your spot here: https://depressionsforeningen.dk/cafeinenglish/

Self Love: What arises in you upon reading this? Is it easy for you to tap into friendly feelings toward yourself, or is it challenging?
Though the importance of self love for psychological, and even physical, health is stressed widely these days, for many of us, it remains a tricky, prohibitive or shameful notion. Often, quite the opposite is present.

Join us for an art workshop where we explore the theme of self love through art expression.

We will begin with a short meditation on self love, learn a little about this concept in psychology, and follow with art expression. We will then share in small groups. To end, we will gather in the big group, where we will share artful and other tips on the next steps toward this important journey. -

Please remember to save your spot by following this link and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
