SUB 3:00 OR BUST 😤

With the king, friend, coach 🙏🏽

To live this bucket list experience has been unreal 🤯 Less than two years ago I did a time trial 10k where I averaged the same pace as I did in this marathon. A goal that I had for myself last year in Stockholm, was to get sub 3.. The universe knew better, I wasn’t ready, I wasn’t experienced, I needed another year to build, mature and learn what this process is about.

As I normally do, when I set my sight on something, I obsess and learn as much as I can about the topic at hand, but more so put in a s**t ton of work to make it happen. Because that’s what it is at the end of the day, not to glorify “hustle” because for me it doesn’t feel like that - there’s nothing I’d rather do with my “free” time then to be an athlete, have these experiences and explore my potential.

So incredibly proud & joyful about this accomplishment and to do it with my brother who has journeyed with me through it all, weekly kilometres, long runs, countless conversations and insights about how we can improve & evolve - so grateful & proud of you brother! You’re a living inspiration ❤️‍🔥

My body is feeling that, but there’s a deep, deep satisfaction & trust in myself that can’t be shook from going through an experience like that. Hard to put into words!

The best feeling is that I’m back home with my loved one who makes this all possible with unwavering support, love and meal preps 😉 - & I see the luckiest and most blessed. ❤️‍🔥🥰

Dishing out lines and putting down fast times - for the bloodline 🙇🏽‍♂️🩸👶🏽

Decent recap pre the big marathon in 2 weeks and trying an official race at this distance. Goal was to get a PB and we did, can definitely see myself doing it again and ripping into deeper gears 😈📈

Another week, another Long Run 🏃🏽‍♂️👌🏽

The Long Run is the most important day/workout during a marathon prep. Something I didn’t understand and respected enough during my prep last year, so making sure they’re dialled in for this prep.

Today’s antics: 5x5km @ 4:05-4:15/km, 1km jog rest between reps.

Total distance: 33.34km

PS. is in full effect and today we had the lowest weigh-in .

I ain’t interested in this, I’m committed. 🔐

HYROX KATOWICE - WE GO AGAIN🔥🇵🇱

Men’s Open Race 💪🏽 1:00:05

A different experience racing with the open weights, but not easy by any means. The lesser intensity was instead replaced by speed which still hits just the same way in the grand scheme of things, so pain cave was achieved and a bit sucky to not get the sub 60 time (even though the goal is for Pro).

Biggest takeaway from racing back to back weekends is that this game comes down to experience and learning the strategy that works for oneself. With races generally being few & far in between it can be tricky to know how to approach it and how one responds in different parts of the race. More races = more understanding. But then you also want to make sure you level up for the future ones! 💪🏽

No more HYROX planned for a while now - we got some other fishes to fry 💪🏽🏃🏽‍♂️‍➡️

Reflecting on HYROX Bilbao.

I decided to do Bilbao in October last year (well ahead of the Stockholm race). & I typically go on some weekend trips throughout the year to explore new cities, so of course I convinced her that Bilbao in February was a great choice 😉🤗

Leading up to the race in Stockholm I felt as prepared as ever and was pumped to SEND IT. Few days prior to the race I got a sore throat and started having flu like symptoms.. Got on the meds and tried to rush my way back to health, convincing myself and being positive that I could, I wasn’t close to 100% as the race started. But I lined up and suffered through it. After the race I had cold/hot shivers and my body temp and heart rate wouldn’t really go down in the evening and through the night. I had no appetite and felt really sick til about 3-4am when things started to settle down and I could fall asleep. Felt fine when I woke up.

I changed things up for Bilbao and found a new way of training through that really helped my programming, especially with the addition of CrossFit style WODs where I’m not as experienced in the programming. So massive shoutout to the team & community for helping me get ready for this one.

Onwards & upwards we go! 🤘🏽 🔜 🇵🇱
