Olsens Egypten er en Facebookbaseret platform, hvor det er muligt at konsultere og booke en egyptolog til præsentationer, undervisning, diskussioner og firmaarrangementer. Alle fag- og interesseområder har en parallel i oldtidens Egypten – medicin, arkitektur, jura, religion, krig osv. – og Olsens Egypten kan give et unikt indblik i verdens første civilisation ved at tilpasse præsentationen til netop Jeres interessesfære. Oldtidens Egyptens har længe fascineret den vestlige verden og med god grund. Meget af vores egen civilisation og hverdag kan spores direkte til det folk, som byggede pyramiderne og rejste obelisker, der vejer hundreder af tons. Vi har svært ved at forstå, hvordan et ”primitivt” folk kunne bygge disse monumenter uden moderne maskiner, men vi glemmer ofte at oldtidens Egypten var befolket af mennesker lige som os selv – med evnen til at tænke og opfinde løsninger på komplekse problemer. Specifikke eller generelle forelæsninger om oldtidens Egypten, eksempelvis: "Det Ny Rige (ca. 1550-1069 f.Kr.) - Den første Supermagt". Undervisning – Til skoler og gymnasier – En interaktiv præsentation i klassen om et specifikt emne, som klassen/skolen har forudbestemt. Denne form for præsentation er særlig anvendelig til tværfaglige undervisningsprogrammer; ét eksempel kunne være præsentationen "Det afrikanske landskabs indflydelse på religion i oldtidens Egypten" som kan benyttes mellem fagene religion, dansk og/eller geografi. En anden præsentation er "Kha – Tutankhamons håndværker", som bl.a. kommer ind på dagligdagen for almindelige egyptere og som f.eks. kan bruges i fagene historie, natur/teknik, samfundsfag og/eller billedkunst. Alle præsentationerne kan naturligvis også være på engelsk. Firmaarrangementer – Som et alternativ til de sædvanlige virksomhedspræsentationer, hvor eksperter indenfor Jeres eget felt fortæller om, hvordan man optimerer Jeres markedsandel, hvorfor så ikke få et nyt perspektiv på hvordan Jeres branche blev udført i oldtidens verden. Eksempelvis: "Oldtids Økonomi – Hvordan kunne opførelsen af en pyramide være rentabel for den egyptiske farao?". Denne slags præsentationer kan skræddersys til at passe Jeres ønsker og sted – uanset om det er til det ugentlige møde eller det sjove akademiske hjernestarterindslag før firmafesten. Organisationer – Som indlæg til debat i foreningen eller organisationen, hvorfor ikke starte med begyndelsen? Hør om hvordan oldtidens egyptere klarede organisatoriske og kulturelle problemer gennem et komplekst bureaukrati. Hør eksempelvis om, hvordan og hvorfor faraos håndværkere som de første i verdenshistorien gik i strejke. Olsen’s Egypt is a Facebook based platform where it is possible to consult and book an Egyptologist for presentations, teaching, discussions and company events. All subjects and interest areas have a parallel in Ancient Egypt – medicine, architecture, law, religion, war etc. – and Olsen’s Egypt is able to adapt to your point of interest and give you a unique insight into the world’s first civilization. Ancient Egypt has long fascinated the western world and rightly so. Much of our own civilization can be traced directly to the people who build the pyramids and erected obelisks weighing hundreds of tons. We struggle to understand how a ‘primitive’ society could build these monuments without modern machinery, but we often forget that Ancient Egypt was populated by humans just like us – with the ability to think and come up with solutions to complex problems. Lectures – Presentations of approximately one hour duration. Specific or general lectures about Ancient Egyptian history and society. For example: “The New Kingdom (ca. 1550-1069 BCE) – The Age of Empire”. Teaching – For schools and high schools/gymnasium – Interactive presentations in class about a specific topic predetermined by the school. Especially applicable for interdisciplinary programs, for example between religion and geography: “How the African landscape influenced Ancient Egyptian belief?”
Another presentation is "Kha – Tutankhamon’s Craftman", which touch upon daily life for the common Egyptian people and which could be used in subjects as History, Nature/Technique, Social Studies and/or Arts. Company events – As an alternative to the usual company presentations with experts from your own field presenting knowledge about how to optimize your market share, why not get a new perspective on how your trade was executed in the ancient world. For example: “Ancient Economics – How could the building of a pyramid be cost-effective for the Egyptian Pharaoh?” These presentations can be tailored to fit your wishes and venue – the weekly meeting or the fun pre-party academic brainteaser. Organizations - As a starting point for debate in the organization, why not start at the beginning? Hear about how the Ancient Egyptians managed organizational and cultural problems through a complex bureaucracy. For example: "Why did the craftsmen of Pharaoh as the first in world history strike?"
