Good fillers are often invisible—they restore balance rather than draw attention.

Visual clues to bad fillers:
• Overfilled or “puffy” look – cheeks, lips, or jaw look swollen rather than contoured (“pillow face”).
• Duck lips / shelf lips – lips protrude forward unnaturally, especially the upper lip.
• Lumps or uneven texture – visible bumps, ridges, or asymmetry under the skin.
• Blurred facial contours – loss of natural landmarks (e.g., jawline melts into neck, cheeks into under-eye area).
• Migration – filler appears to have moved (e.g., upper lip filler showing above the lip, under-eye filler creating bags).
• Bluish or gray tint (Tyndall effect) – especially under the eyes when filler is placed too superficially.

Movement clues for bad fillers:
• Stiff or unnatural expressions – smiling or talking looks restricted or oddly shaped.
• Delayed movement – parts of the face move out of sync.
