Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation
One of the most common electrical methods used for pain manamgement like
1-postoperative abdominal pain
2-labor and post labor pain
3-postoperative thoracic pain
4-osteoarthritis pain
5-dysmonerrheal pain
6-postoperative orthopedic pain
it's moderate for low back pain, neurogenic pain, chronic pain syndrome, stump or phantom pain, rheumatoid arthritis pain and orofacial pain
Contra indicated in cases of (( pace makers, cardioverter defibrilator, contact dermatitis))
Electrode placement :
One on the the area of pain
Others around the area and dermatomes
it follows the set like "NMES"
Through proper parameters pain totally decreases
