On the Validity and Legitimacy of ITTAF Diplomas
The INTERNATIONAL TRADITIONAL TAEKWON-DO FEDERATION (ITTAF) hereby states that the diplomas issued by this Federation are fully legitimate, legally registered, and technically and historically consistent with Traditional Taekwon-Do.
1. Diploma Model
The diploma format follows the historical model used by the founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi, respecting the tradition, aesthetics, and original lineage of Taekwon-Do.
The preservation of this format is not incidental, but a conscious decision to maintain historical and doctrinal continuity.
2. Logos and Registrations
The main logo used on the diploma does not correspond to the current ITTAF emblem; however, it is duly registered, as are all logos used by the Federation.
Its use is legal, legitimate, and fully authorized.
3. Institutional Recognition
The organizations listed on the right side of the diploma are entities that officially recognize ITTAF and of which ITTAF is an active member.
Their inclusion reflects mutual recognition, institutional endorsement, and international cooperation, a common and fully valid practice within the international federative framework.
4. Federative Authority
The diplomas are signed by the President of ITTAF, GM Mario Pons, 9th Dan, representative of a recognized direct lineage, which grants the document full technical, moral, and federative authority.
5. Security and Traceability
Each diploma incorporates individual numbering, official seals, security elements, and identifying marks, guaranteeing its authenticity, traceability, and protection against forgery.

Since its early years, ITTAF has taken on the vision of preserving General Choi's original legacy. In a memorable meeting in 1991, during a course in Porto, Portugal, the need to differentiate Traditional Taekwon-Do from other styles in order to facilitate its projection as an official sport was respectfully addressed. This dialogue, always in the spirit of learning and loyalty to the founder, inspired the creation of ITTAF, reflecting both fidelity to the lineage and the strategic vision necessary for its international expansion.
