🌊🧘🌸
Not listening to our inner self is dangerous. It can take us to places we don't want to be. Places that seem rationally correct and socially welcome, but don't really reflect what we really need and who we really are. It may take us to a point where our thoughts are so tangled that we no longer know where they start and end, what's their cause and purpose. And it's just one giant overwhealming mess. It's exhausting and suffocating.
🧘
To avoid getting there or in order to leave that messy place, the one and only solution is to dig deep under the layers of your onion (beliefs, thoughts, habits, ideas) until you get to the soft heart. This soft heart is the RAW you. The you that doesn't listen to what others think, to what YOU THINK woud be best. The raw you knows well what makes you happy, what makes you feel alive. Find courage to listen to it.
💓
Try this exercise: sit in meditation pose, calm your breath, then take an issue that troubles you and as it comes to your mind observe what's happening in your body. If you feel discomfort (heavy stomach, closed throat), it means that the path you chose for this area of life needs to be verified. Ask yourself how would you approach this issue in an ideal world, where nobody judges you, where everything is allowed, nobody gets hurt and you are completely free to do what you want. Would your approach this issue differently? How? Is it really that impossible to do?
Sometimes we need an earthquake, but sometimes a little reshuffling of priorities is enough to unblock us and to turn a tangled thaught into a straight line. One thaught at a time, we may turn our messy wool ball into a nice straight paths. I'm not saying this process is easy or quick. But it is possible, one line at a time. One courageous decision at a time.
