An incredible trip! 🇸🇪✨
From February 13–26, I had the pleasure of traveling to Sweden, the birthplace of modern implantology, for a roadshow across three cities: Malmö, Gothenburg, and Stockholm.
I delivered three lectures on surgery and implants, all with full attendance and an amazing atmosphere. Truly inspiring to share knowledge with such engaged audiences.
Huge thanks to the Dentsply Sirona Sweden team for organizing this journey and making it all possible.
Sweden is a fantastic country, and this has been an unforgettable experience.

Clinical case: gingival recessions in the 5th sextant

In this clinical case, multiple gingival recessions were treated in the 5th sextant, where I chose a modified zipper tunnel technique as the surgical approach.

Situations like this highlight that there is no single technique suitable for every case. A solid understanding of different surgical approaches, along with proper evaluation of the biotype, anatomy, and local conditions, allows us to adapt the technique to each patient’s specific needs.

Continuous education and clinical experience are essential to make predictable decisions and successfully manage complex cases.

Clinical case of mucogingival surgery

In this patient, I performed a rotated subepithelial connective tissue graft to increase and improve soft tissue volume in the anterior maxillary area. The prosthetic plan includes a fixed bridge from canine to canine, making precise soft tissue management essential to achieve a predictable functional and aesthetic outcome.

In this case, the use of this technique allows us to enhance tissue volumes without the need for bone grafting, offering a clear advantage in terms of reduced treatment time, faster healing, and fewer potential complications for the patient.

Recessions in the 5th sextant can be particularly challenging to manage. Due to each patient’s unique anatomical conditions, achieving complete root coverage is not always possible. In this case, I opted for a tunnel technique to obtain the best possible esthetic and biological outcome.

Challenging lower incisors root coverage case successfully treated!

This patient presented with severe gingival recessions in the lower incisors, combined with a thin periodontal biotype and significant soft tissue loss — a situation that made the case particularly complex.

To address this, I used a modified tunneling technique combined with the “zipper” approach, allowing for precise tissue handling and tension-free coronal advancement. The result: excellent root coverage, improved tissue thickness, and a very satisfied patient.

Mastering soft tissue management is key in periodontal plastic surgery — and it’s always rewarding to see these transformations come to life.

**International Course on Surgery, Implants, and Bone Regeneration**
On March 28th and 29th, we had the pleasure of hosting this international course at Odos Dental, with the participation of doctors who traveled to Madrid to enjoy two intensive days of learning and hands-on experience. The program included lectures and clinical updates on immediate implants, bone regeneration, and soft tissue management, as well as a practical workshop to apply these techniques and a live surgery. Two days full of education, clinical excellence, and great moments in Madrid.

Last week, I had the pleasure of giving a lecture and workshop on bone regeneration in Bratislava, Slovakia.
