When I was a boy, I prayed each night that my mum and dad would live forever. It was the simple, innocent faith of a child who couldn’t imagine a world without their love. But when I became a man, I learned that some prayers cannot be answered the way we wish — that life has its own rhythm, and love, its own eternal form. Now that they are gone, my prayers have changed. I no longer ask for forever; I simply ask for one more moment — to hold them, to thank them, to tell them how deeply they are missed. And in that quiet prayer, I realise that though they are beyond my touch, they are never beyond my heart.
