Sometimes you need to try something new!

Half PCOS friendly! Those little fried fish pieces were made from scratch by me!

Even though in theory I should avoid carbs I went for the next best option - fasting all day lowering my insulin and then eating them with my only meal.

I also made them from scratch so I avoided any harmful preservatives 🙌

Always remember making slightly better choice might be all that you need. So keep on making those small good choices and you will succeed.

We had an amazing Wednesday this week!

Those little scooters were totally free for a day so we took one for a swing a little bit further than normal.

Much needed mentally to break away from always staring at laptop and see the beautiful surroundings we live in with new eyes.

That's right. How is that possible? 🤯

We always think that our body is just struggling with something, it just feels wrong, we can't do anything and we don't know how it happened?

The truth is - in many cases (not all) our environment, our lifestyle, our mind can play a role in our health.

Let me be clear - I am not preaching that meditating will cure all your problems. In 2013 I could not meditate my endometriosis away, I could not fix it with supplements and diet.

But there are a lot of things you can prevent and improve by doing these things.

And this is not an old wives' tale. Science links stress and high cortisol levels to many diseases. High cortisol as an example raises your blood sugar and can further contribute to insulin resistance.

High blood sugar levels can lead to insulin resistance, which can cause poor testosterone levels.

And the list goes on. So yes, you have a lot of power over your health. So be intentional about it. Love yourself enough to give your body the best chance to be healthy!

Rather PCOS friendly meal. Wow cooked pork chops in spicy tomato sauce on the bed of vegetables.

This one was not keto but you could easy swap vegetables for keto version (mine had potatoes in the mix).

Cheap, easy and way healthier alternative to processed carbs.

What are you cooking with PCOS?

Soooo here is the tea.

You know how I like experimenting with my own body 😂

I’ve been told that I have wheat intolerance over 6 years ago. I quit wheat then but I still felt bad after gluten. So I quit rye, barley and all other gluten full things 😁

I was told that I can start re-introducing them to my diet 3 years later to see my body’s reaction.

I waited 5 years and made few tests.

Guess what- wheat is still a no-no so I’m testing non wheat gluten flours 😁

So far still not sure, need to make some tests.

And today was one of them - rye sun flower bread.

Still not sure about the verdict but will keep you posted!

Here we go with the lifestyle.

Many people claim that you have to eat all day or you will go into "starvation mode" or you will have no energy etc.

And it might be true, for those of us who do not handle switching from sugar burning to fat burning easy.

The truth is that our body is holding on to fat for a reason. So not only it is ok not to eat and use your "stored fuel" it is also amazing for health and longevity.

In 2016 Japanese cell biologist Yoshinori Ohsumi won the Nobel Prize in Medicine for discovering autophagy. Process in which cells recycle and renew their content.

Our bodies reach the state of authopagy after around 18 hours of fasting.

So fasting not only can help you lose weight but also recycle, renew your body.

What is more giving your digestive system a break is great for it's healing too.

So don't be afraid not to eat sometimes.

P.S. Fasting longer than 48 hours shows some negative effects so keep it to 18-48 hours at a time.

Do you drink coffee?

I quit my daily coffee habit... or rather broke the caffeine addiction around a month ago.

Why? For me I feel it contributes to my anxiety. And for us, women with PCOS anxiety is very common.

What I didn’t know and just found out today (while having my occasional coffee) is that:

“It turns out that women who drink two or more cups of coffee per day have significantly higher levels of estrogen in their bodies (upwards of 70% more!) during the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle. With PCOS, you are already battling hormonal issues at this phase of the game so you don’t want to contribute to the problem. “

I say whaaaaat???!!!
Did you know that? Do you drink coffee?

The underestimated rest! 😅

Rest has many forms - sleep, laying down relaxing, but also good food and movement.

The latter has been very difficult for me this past 8 months. If you go back to August 2020 you will see that I tried to run 😅 Up until this day I have a problem with my ankles.

Still not diagnosed I do all I can to be in nature as much as possible. Sometimes even sitting on the beach or having a short walk in the forest is enough to make my brain completely reset and notice "wow, there is more in the world than just my laptop and my work" 😅.

Building a business is the longest strain I have endured so far. And the one I loved the most, however sometimes to be good at what you do... you need a break from it.

Do you agree?
