Amanda Dee Yoga

Amanda Dee Yoga Amanda Dee, is a Yoga Teacher, Thai Bodywork therapist since 2003 and she travels around the world managing and creating amazing yoga retreats.

For the past 17 years, Amanda has immersed herself in daily yoga practice. She has studied with various known teachers such as Ramanada Patel, Dharma Mitra, Cindy Lee, Schuyler Grant (Kula Yoga). She also has her 200 hr advance training with Leslie Kaminoff in 'Breath Centered Yoga' a therapeutic approach to yoga, using the breath as a starting point to understand the anatomy of the body in depth. But don't be mistaken, these classes are on the challenging side of the yoga world and are not for the faint hearted, working a lot with inversions, core strengthening within a unique flow sequence of postures
Amanda's experience as a professional dancer and licensed Thai Body-worker is often reflected in her balanced teaching style. Her classes are fun, lively and energetic, though also focused on anatomical alignment, healing and spiritual awareness. She also has a long experience organizing Yoga Retreats all around the world in the best locations ever to practice Yoga while traveling and learn about different cultures.

Just me, a talented musician, and a very lucky moment in Montmartre.

I travel a lot for my retreats, but it’s the quiet, unexpected highlights like this one that stay with me long after I’m home.
Paris, you’re pretty special

In my Continuing Education Hours Teacher Trainings in Spain, we move beyond the “standard” alignment manual. We train the Teacher’s Eye to see what the student actually needs in real-time: .
For example Warrior 1 looks different on every body, so our assists should too! we don’t just learn “The Adjustment”—we learn the intent behind the touch.
Here’s a quick look at how we adapt for the student:
• The Anchor: Rooting the back heel for the student who feels “floaty” or unstable.
• The Scissor: Gently guiding the hips toward the front while deepening the inner groin in the back leg to release the iliopsoas muscle.
• The Elevator: Lifting the side ribs to create space in a compressed low back.
• The Stabilizer: Providing resistance at the outer knee to help with tracking.
The Lesson: Stop “fixing” the pose and start supporting the person. Which of these is your go-to?

Why Yoga?

"Yoga has been a huge part of my life for many years. Growing up in England I was always a person that found my peace within movement, attending dance school and eventually becoming a professional belly dancer and African dancer, still something was missing. I moved to America when I was 20 years old and dropped into a yoga class, because I saw a friend doing a beautiful headstand moving her legs in a meditative motions on the top of a mountain at sunset. I wanted to do that, wow! but also I heard that yoga helps you to become more flexible, which is great for dancers. On attending the classes with my first teacher Betsy Ceva, she introduced me to so much more than my limited understanding of the practice, she taught me dance, meditation, philosophy, science, anatomy, understanding people, appreciating my environment and my world, living a healthy lifestyle and connecting me with open honest, contented people striving for a better world. From then on I was hooked and eventually wanted to share this knowledge with others. So why Yoga, yoga is a way of life."
