Can you trust pain advice you see on social media?
Just because someone has thousands of followers doesn’t mean their advice is safe or correct.
When it comes to your health, popularity is not the same as expertise.
Here’s why you should be careful:
• Anyone can post health advice — even without medical training • Posts are not fact-checked • Some content is designed to sell products, not help you • Quick fixes and “miracle cures” are usually unrealistic • Personal success stories don’t work the same for everyone
So how can you protect yourself?
✔ Check the person’s qualifications ✔ Be cautious of “too good to be true” promises ✔ Look for advice based on research, not just testimonials ✔ Be careful if they are mainly selling something
If you see something online that interests you, bring it to your doctor or physiotherapist and discuss it together.
Your health deserves safe, reliable information — not trends.
