🧠 What is Monkeypox? Understanding the Virus in Simple Terms 🐒🦠

You’ve probably heard about monkeypox, but what is it really? Let’s break it down:

🔹 Monkeypox is a rare viral disease that causes a rash similar to smallpox, but it’s usually milder. It’s caused by the monkeypox virus, which belongs to the orthopoxvirus family — the same group that causes smallpox.

📍 Where does it come from?
Despite the name, monkeypox doesn’t come only from monkeys. It was first discovered in lab monkeys in 1958, but it is more commonly found in rodents like squirrels, rats, and dormice, especially in Central and West Africa.

👥 How does it spread?
Monkeypox can spread from:

🐾 Animals to humans: through bites, scratches, or contact with animal body fluids.

🤝 Person to person: through close contact with:

Skin rashes or lesions

Respiratory droplets (from prolonged face-to-face contact)

Contaminated clothing, bedding, or towels

⚠️ Symptoms usually appear 1–2 weeks after exposure and include:

Fever

Headache

Muscle aches

Swollen lymph nodes

Fatigue

A rash that turns into blisters, then scabs (often starts on the face and spreads)

⏳ Illness lasts 2–4 weeks, and most people recover without treatment. However, children, pregnant women, and people with weak immune systems may experience more severe illness.

🛡️ Is there a treatment or vaccine?
There’s no specific cure, but supportive care helps. The smallpox vaccine offers some protection against monkeypox. Newer vaccines like Jynneos (also called Imvamune or Imvanex) are approved for monkeypox prevention in certain countries.

🌍 Why is it in the news?
Recently, monkeypox has spread beyond Africa to countries in Europe, the Americas, and beyond. This has raised concern, but it's important to know:
✅ Monkeypox is not as contagious as COVID-19.
✅ It usually spreads through very close or prolonged contact.
✅ With proper awareness, hygiene, and medical response, it can be controlled.

🚺🚺 ! #ይነበብ 🚹🚹

አንድ ቀን ነው ፤ ዶሮ ፣ ፍየል ፣ በሬና ሰው በአንድ ቤት ውስጥ አብረው ነበሩ። ከዛ እባብ ቀስ እያለ ወደ ቤቱ ሲገባ መጀመርያ ዶሮዋ ነበር ያየችው "እኔ ምን አገባኝ ጣራ ላይ ስለወጣሁ አይደርሰኝም" በማለት እባብ እየመጣ እንደሆነ ሳትነግራቸው ዝም አለች። እባቡ እየተቃረበ መጣ።

በመቀጠል ፍየሏ ነበር ያየችው ። "መቼም ቤትን የምያኽል ትልቅ በሬ እያለ እኔን ይበላኛል ብሎ ማሰብ ሞኝነት ነው ። ስለዚህ ምን አገባኝ መምጣቱን ይሁን መግባቱን የሚያስጨንቀኝ" ብላ ዝምታን መረጠች ።

አሁንም እባቡ እየቀረበ መጣ መጨረሻ ላይ ትልቁ በሬ እባቡን መግባቱ ተመለከተ ። እሱም እባብ ቤቱን እንደገባ ከማሳወቅ ይልቅ በጉልበቱ የሚተማመን ስለነበረ "ቢገባስ ምን አገባኝ ፤ እኔን ምን እንዳይጎድለኝ ፤ ቢነድፍ ሰውዬው እንጂ እኔን ዞር ብሎ አያየኝም ትልቅ መሆኔ እያየ አይደፍረኝም" ብሎ እንደሌሎቹ ሳያሳውቃቸው ቀረ ።

በሚያሳዝን ሁኔታ ግን እባቡ ያሁሉ ክፍተት ስላገኘ ተኝቶ ዓለሙን በእንቅልፍ ልቡ ሲዋኛት ለነበረ ሰውዬው እግሩን ነደፈው ።

በሁኔታው በጣም የተደናገጠ፤ሰውየው ከእንቅልፉ በሰከንዶች ተነስቶ"ኡ ኡ ኡ..." በማለት ጩኸት ማሰማት ጀመረ ። እንዳለ ጎረቤቶቹ ምን አገኘው በማለት ግልብጥ ብለው መጡ ። ታላቆች ተጠርተው እባብ እንደነደፈው ሲነግራቸው ፤ ሰውዬው እንዴት መፈወስ እንዳለባቸው መመካከር ጀመሩ ።

ከዛ አንድ ታላቅ አባት ተነስተው ዶሮዋ በተነደፈው እግሩ እንዲያስቀምጧትና መርዙን በአፏ ስባ እንድታወጣው መከሩ ። ትልቁ አባት ያሉትን ሰምተው ነገሩን ሞኮሩት ፤ ሰውዬው ግን ተጨማሪ መድኃኒት ሳያስፈልገው አልቀረም ጨርሶ አልዳነም። ዶሮዋም መርዙን ስለሳበችው ሞተች እንጂ "ምን አገባኝ" ማለቱ አልጠቀማትም።

ቀጥሎውም የፍየል መረቅ እባብን የተነደፈ ሰው ከጠጣው ፍቱን መድኃኒት መሆኑ ከመኸል በመነሳት አንድ አባት ተናገሩ ። ድጋሜም እንሞክረው በማለት ፍየሏ ታረደችና በመረቅ መልኩ ለታመመ ሰውዬ አቀረቡለት ። ፍየሏም "ምን አገባኝ" ማለቱ ለራሷ ጥሩ አልገጠማትም ።
ታማሚው ባሉት መሠረት መረቁ አንድ ሳያስቀር ጠጣው ። ጭራሽ ግን ለውጥ አልነበረውም ፤ ልያገግም ባለመቻሉ እንዲሁም ሕመሙን
እየበረታው ስለመጣ መቋቋም አቃተውና ወደ የዘላለሙ ቤታችን በሰላም ሄደ። መላ ቤተሰቦቹና ወዳጆቹ አልቅሰው አለቃቅሰው # RIP ብለው ሸኙት ዓለም ምን ዋጋ አላትና ።

"ማን አባቱ ቀና ብሎ ያየኛል"እያለ ሲፎክር የነበረ ታላቁ በሬም ከሞት ልያመልጥ አልቻለም ። ቀኑ መሮጡን አላቆመምና ሟቹ
80(ሰማንያ)ቀኑ ደረሰ። ለተዝካሩ ይሆን ዘንድ እንደባህላችን መሠረት እህልና ውኋ ማጥፋት የግድ ነበረና በሬ መታረድ ስለነበረበት ታላቁ በሬ "ምን አገባኝ ማለት"ቄራ ሳያገባው አልቀረምና ነው።
ለማለት የፈለግሁት ሁላችን ኢትዮጵያውያን እርስ በርሳችን ተግባብተን "አንዱ ሲጎዳ ስናይ" ጉዳቱ የሁላችን መሆኑ እናስብ። ዛሬ አንዱን ሲጨንቀው ሲቸገር አይተን እንዳላየን ሰምተን እንዳልሰማን ችላ ብለን ካለፍነው ፤ ጊዜው ጠብቆ ችግሩ ወደ'ኛም እንደሚመጣ አንዳንረሳ። እንተጋገዝ እንተዛዘን እንተባበር እንመካከር ልዪነታችን ውበታችን ነው።

#ጎንደር #ጎደኞቹን ለመጠየቅ የሄደ ሀኪም እና #ፓሊስ

ጎንደር ማራኪ ፖሊስ ጣቢያ አንድ ፖሊስ ጋር እያወራን ነበር።ፖሊስ ጣቢያው አካባቢ ጓደኞቼ እስኪመጡልኝ እየጠበቅሁ ለመጠየቅ ሂደን (አስበን የነበረው ማስፈታት ነበር ግን ሰው በአንድ ላይ መምጣት ስላልቻለ)ዘወር ዘወር ስል ወደእኔ መጥቶ ይዞኝ ሄደ እና ማንነቴን ጠየቀኝ የጤና ባለሙያ እንደሆንኩ ነገርኩት እና እዚህ አካባቢ ምን ትሰራለህ ሲለኝ አይ ሚመጡ ጓደኞቼ ነበሩ እነሱን እየጠበቅሁ አልኩት።ከዛ ምን ልታደርጉ ነው ሲለኝ ጓደኞቻችን እና መምህሮቻችንን በሌሊቱ አፍሳችሁ ይዛችሁብን መጥታችሁ አልሁት።

ከዛ እሱም ለምን ታምጻላችሁ አለኝ?ሥራችሁን እየሰራችሁ ለምን አትጠይቁም አለኝ።እኔም ለእናንተ እንድታፍሱላቸው አመጽ አንስተዋል አሏችሁ እንጅ እኛኮ አላመጽንም ረሀብ ልንሞት ነው ድረሱልን ብለን ነው የጠየቅን በእርግጥ ሌሎች ብዙ መሠረታዊ ጥያቄዎች አሉ አልኩት።
ብዬ ጥያቄዎቻችንን እያንዳንዱ ጤና ሥርዓቱ በቦርድ ይመራ ከሚለው ውጭ አስረዳሁት ታዲያ በውይይት ማትፈቱት አለኝ።

ያው ጥያቄው ሰሞኑን የተጠየቀ አይደለም በ2011 ዓ.ም በ2015 ዓ.ም አሁን ደግሞ ለሦስተኛ ጊዜ ነው የተጠየቀው ካሁን በፊት ያሉት ቃል ተገብቶልን አንድም ስላልተፈጸመ በዚህ ዓመት ግን ቦርዱ ከጤና ሚኒስቴር፥ጠቅላይ ሚኒስቴር፥የክልል ጤና ቢሮዎች ጋር እና ሌሎች አጋር አካላት ጋር እንጅ ዞን ወረዳና ቀበሌ ያሉ ማንኛውም አካላት በሚሰበስቡትም ይሁን ቃል በሚገቡት መመለስ አይችልም።ይህም ደግሞ እንደሀገር እንጅ ጎንደር ብቻ አይደለም የተጠየቀ።አዲስ አበባ አለ አለኝ።

አዳማ፥ጳውሎስ፥ጥቁር አንበሳ፥አሰላ፥ወልቂጤ...ብዬ ግዙፎችን ቲችንግ ሆስፒታል ጠራሁለት።እሱም አይ አሁንኮ ብር የለም ምናምን አለኝ።ከዛ እኔም እኔ ምልህ በ1.8 ትሪሊየን ብር ቤተመንግስት እየተገነባ እንደሆነ ታቃለህ ስለው ኧረ የለም አለኝ።የኢትዮጵያ ዓመታዊ በጀት ምን ያህል እንደሆነ ታቃለህ ስለው የለም አለኝ።ስለዚህ ብር አለ የለም ለማለት ይህን ማወቅ አለብህ አልኩት።ግን ቢሆንም ለምን ዘግታችሁ ትወጣላችሁ አለኝ እኛኮ በስድስት ዓመት ውስጥ ሁለት ጊዜ ጠይቀን በውሸት የተታለልን፤በዚህ ዓመት ጥያቄዎቹን ጠይቀን 30 የመልስ ቀናት ሰጥተን ዳባ ልበስ የተባልን፥ከዚያም መንግስት ቢያንስ ቢነቃቃ ብለን የድንገተኛና የጽኑ ህሙማን እንዲሁም የማዋለጃ ክፍል ሳንዘጋ እየሰራን ባለንበት ሰዓት መጥታችሁ እናንተው ከብባችሁ 4 ባለሙያዎችን ከሚሰሩበት ወሰዳችኋቸው እኛም እናንተ ከመጣችሁማ ብለን ትተንላችሁ ወጣን ከዛም ጭራስ ከሚኖሩበት በር እየደበደባችሁ በሌሊቱ ወሰዳችኋቸው።

ከዛ እሱም ግን በእውነት ደሞዛችሁ አንሷችሁ ነው እኛኮ እያብቃቃን እየኖርን ነው አለኝ።ምን ያህል የሚከፈለኝ ይመስልሃል ስለው መቼም ተንደላቃችሁ ነው ምትኖሩ አለኝ።ተው አሁን እንባዬን አታምጣው ብዬ በትንሹ 40,000 አይከፈላችሁም ብሎኝ ቁጭ አለ።ድሮ 6600 ነበር ደሞዝ ሳይጨመር አሁን ግን 7600 ሆኗል ስለው ኩምሽሽ አለ።እኛ ራሱኮ 11500 የተጣራ ይደርሰናል አለኝ።ለዚህ እኮ ነው አድምጡን ዝምብላችሁ አትፈሱን ምንላችሁ ግን ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ያላችሁ የጸጥታ አካላት መቼ ነው ከመታዘዝ ወጥታችሁ በራሳችሁ ትክክል ነው አይደለም ምትሉት አልኩት።

እና አሁን ሆስፒታሉ ይሰራል አቁሟል አለኝ ይዛችኋቸው መጣችሁ ማን ነው ሚሰራ።ድንገት እዛ ያሉ ፌደራል ፖሊሶች እያከሙ ካልሆነ አልኩት።
ኃላፊዎች ምን ይላሉ አለኝ እነሱማ የእናንተ ዘመዶች አይደሉ ሚያሳፍሱስ እነሱ አይደሉ ግቡ ብለው ማስጠንቀቂያ በቀን ሁለት ጊዜ እየፃፉ ነው።ግን ግቡ ሚባሉት እዚህ ገብተዋል።

ለማንኛውም እናንተም ጊዜው ቅርብ ስለሆነ እኛን ሳታንገላቱ አቅም ካላችሁ አብራችሁ ጥያቄው ትክክል ነው ብላችሁ ከህዝብ ጋር ጠይቁ።ቢያንስ ግን የውሸታም ካድሬ ተባባሪ ባትሆኑ ለእናንተ ለወደፊት ይጠቅማል ታሪክም ስለሚወቅሳችሁ።የያዛችኋቸውንም ልቀቁልን አልኩት።ከዛ መንግስት ከሰጠ ምላሽ ይስጥ አይ ካለ የሚፈልግ አካል መጥቶ ይክም።ካሁን በኋላ የመንግስት ጤና ሴክተሮች ጥያቄው ካልተመለሰ በማፈስ ሀኪሙን ወደሥራ መልስ እንድምማትችሉ ቅድሚያ እወቁ ስለዚህ ህዝብንና ወደፊት ሚያክማችሁን ባለሙያ ከማንገላታት ያለፈ ምትፈጥሩት አዲስ ነገር አይኖርም።እሱንም መጥታችሁ አይደለም 28 ባለሙያ ሁላችንም አምጥተህ ብታስገባን በፍጹም አይቆምም።

እኛ ቤታችን ለመቀመጥ ፍጹም ወስነናል።እናንተም ነገ ሆስፒታል መምጣታችሁ ስለማይቀር ምታደርጉትን ሁሉ እያሰባችሁ አልኩት።

እኔም እኮ ሀኪም መሆን እፈልግ ነበር ድሮ አልሳካልኝ ብሎ እንጅ አለኝ።እንኳንም አልሆንህ።እኔ ምልህ ልጅህ ጎበዝ ተማሪ እንዲሆን ትፈልጋለህ አልኩት እንዴ በጣም እንጅ አለኝ።ከዛስ ምን ሊሆን ስለው አይ ሀኪም እንዲሆን እፈልግ ነበር ይቅርበት አለኝ።

ለማንኛውም የእኛ እያበቃ ነው ደግሞም እናሸንፋለን።መንግስት እምቢ ካለም የቀን ሥራ ብሰራ የደሞዜን እጥፍ አገኛለሁ ነገ መምህራን ሲነሱም ልታፍሱ ነው?በጭራሽ እንዳታደርጉት ከእኛ እንኳ ካሁን በኋላ ሆስፒታል ብትመጡም ማንንም አታገኙም ግን አትምጡ አልኩት።

ጥያቄው ትክክለኛ ጥያቄ ነው በርቱ ብሎ በል ጠይቅና ሂድ ቤትህን አለኝ።

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Does being an intellectual and hard worker cost all of these....??

When we were at the high-schools, we were the hard workers, we were at the top, we were the one whom everybody looked up because of our dedication, hard work, achievements( not forgetting God's gift and blessing up on us)....

Truly, we were the definition of a well-mannered, dedicated, hard-working, intellectual teenage boy/ girl.

Then, filled with confidence and hope, we looked around to see the best way to help ourselves, family, and even, we were sure that we are capable of helping and changing our communities....

So, we asked what is the best way to do so.....

So the society, the govt(with its policy) they pointed their fingers to one road and told us...." u see that way...go that way....that is the path were all the intellectuals go, that is the road of hard workers and high scorers go, that is the path where u will be able to use ur gift, hard work,intellect and by which u will be able to help ur family even ur community...."

So we took the path 😔😔

We gave our youth, and our everything......and fiiiiiinaly we get there....uuyyaa

Then suddenly and also sadly we found ourselves hearing voices saying

"u r in our hands now, just do what u are told to do, just serve, live for others...."

We looked around and noticed....

The ones looking us up, are know looking us dawn, we saw them helping themselves, their family...we saw them playing in a water pool while we wait the monthly drops from where we work...how sad, how ironic the situations become.

Please please don't make us say being hard worker and intellectual in this country is a crime and harm to self!!!

**"Judging Without Knowing Leads to Regret"**

The doctor was suddenly called for an emergency surgery and was rushing to the hospital. He handled the phone call as professionally as possible, quickly changed into his medical attire, and was heading to the operating room. On the corridor, he encountered a man who was anxiously waiting for his arrival.

"How could you take so long to get here? Can't you see my child's life is in danger? Don't you have a conscience?" the man shouted at the doctor.

The doctor smiled slightly and said,
"I’m sorry, I wasn’t at the hospital. As soon as I received the call, I came as fast as I could. Now, if you calm down, I’ll do my best to help."

But the man retorted,
"Calm down? If it were your child, would you be calm? What would you do if your child were dying?"

The doctor smiled again and replied,
"God’s will be done. A doctor cannot prolong, end, or replace life, but we do our best. With God’s will, your child will recover. Just stay calm."

The man then said,
"It’s easy to give advice when you’re not the one suffering."

The surgery took several hours and was completed successfully. The doctor, with a sense of relief, rushed out of the operating room.

To the father, he said,
"Thank God, your child has recovered. If you have any questions, you can ask the other doctors." And with that, the doctor continued on his way.

The father wondered,
"Why is the doctor so emotional and rushed? Couldn’t he spare a minute to explain my child’s condition?"

A nurse who overheard this, with tears in her eyes, said,
"Yesterday, the doctor’s child died in a car accident. When we called him for your child’s surgery, he was at his child’s funeral. Now, he saved your child’s life and rushed back to finish his own child’s burial."

The father, recalling the doctor’s smile from hours earlier, broke down in tears. The sorrow of regret.
