On September 4, we celebrated a milestone we’ve been working toward for months, the official launch of Kuri Lactation Tea, the first branded locally produced lactation tea in Ethiopia. A product designed to support mothers in their breastfeeding journey.

The event began with a warm and inspiring opening speech from our CEO, Mahlet Kassahun, who shared the vision and journey that led to Kuri. Following her, we were honored to have Biruk, Country Director of Jasiri, give a keynote speech. His words reminded us how Kuri was born from the Jasiri program and how vital this community has been in shaping our journey.

The Kuri story was then narrated by our co-founder, Dr. Eyerusalem Getu, who walked everyone through our journey from the challenges mothers face with breastfeeding to the solutions we’ve been building, and the milestones we’ve achieved as a team.

We were joined by different stakeholders, partners, friends and families who made the day even more special.

A special thanks goes to JASIRI where the idea of Kuri was first born and nurtured into what it is today. The mentorship, support, and belief in our mission have been the backbone of this journey. We also extend our gratitude to programs like Ethiopian diaspora trust fund and GRV, whose continued support has guided us forward.

For this launch, we are especially thankful to iceaddis and Venture Meda, who supported us both financially and technically. Their guidance in shaping our strategy and their contribution to making this event possible mean so much to our team. Our MC, Hermela, made the entire event memorable with her energy and grace.

And finally, thank you to the amazing Kuri team, your dedication, passion, and hard work made this milestone possible.

With this launch, we are proud to say that Kuri Lactation Tea is now available in the market a new chapter for us, and most importantly, for mothers and babies in Ethiopia.

Kuri is here, and this is only the beginning. 🌿

🔅እናት ከልጇ ስትርቅ ህጻኑ የእናቱን ወተት ማግኘት እንዲችል
🔅የጡት ወተት ሲሞላ የሚያመጣውን ምቾት ማጣት ለማስታገስ
🔅የጡት ወተት ምርትን በተለይ ለመጀመሪያዎቹ ቀናት እንዲጨምር ለማድረግ

የጡት ወተት ከታለበ በኃላ አስከ ስንት ጊዜ ይቆያል?

🔅የክፍል ሙቀት: እስከ 4 ሰአት
🔅ፍሪጅ: እስከ 4 ቀን
🔅ፍሪዘር (በረዶ ክፍል): እስከ 9 ወር ድረስ

✅መተግበር ያለባቸው ነገሮች

🔅 ንጹህ እና የሚዘጋ እቃ ወይም ማከማቻ መጠቀም
🔅 እጅን እና ማለቢያ ፓምፕን በሚገባ ማጠብ

In collaboration with ITHIEL, the Kuri Mother’s Health team is proud to provide free maternal and lactation consultations as part of our ongoing efforts to support breastfeeding mothers during World Breastfeeding Week.

These clinics are designed to create accessible, supportive spaces for mothers offering expert guidance on breastfeeding, postpartum wellness, and maternal care.

MarHiwot MCH Center ማርህይወት የእናቶች እና ህፃናት ስፔሻሊቲ ህክምና ማእከል ጋር በመተባበር “ጊዜያዊ የጡት ማጥባት ማማከሪያ” (Lactation Lounge Pop-Up Clinic) በማዘጋጀት፣ በማዕከሉ ለወለዱ እናቶችም ጭምር ነጻ የጡት ማጥባት፣ የማማከር አገልግሎት እና ትምህርት ሰጥተናል።
