On August 12, 2025, at Sephire Addis Hotel, Gilando Biomedical Solutions PLC proudly sponsored and participated in the Graduation Dinner Ceremony for Radiology Residents.

The event featured inspiring remarks from Dr. Amir Alwan, Head of Radiology at BLH, and Mr. Fituma Daniel, General Manager of Gilando Biomedical Solutions, congratulating the graduates and sharing their hopes for the future of radiology in Ethiopia.

Gilando Biomedical Solutions PLC Demonstrates Innovation at Jigjiga University and Joins Green Legacy Initiative

On July 31, 2025, Gilando Biomedical Solutions (GBS) PLC had the honor of being invited by Dr. Abdulahi, CEO of Jigjiga University Sheik Hassan Yabare Referral Hospital, to demonstrate its latest state-of-the-art laboratory equipment. The demonstration featured advanced medical technologies, innovative laboratory design, and cutting-edge imaging systems—all imported and supplied by GBS.

The event was graced by high-ranking officials, including H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh, Somali Region President H.E. Mustafe Mohammed, Prosperity Party Vice President H.E. Adem Farah, and General Commissioner Demelash Gebremichael. Their presence highlighted the critical role of technological innovation in strengthening Ethiopia’s healthcare infrastructure.

In addition to the technology showcase, GBS proudly took part in Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Initiative, joining the national effort at Jigjiga University. GBS contributed to the ambitious goal of planting 2.5 million seedlings in the Somali Region in one day, as part of the broader national target of 14 million trees in 2025. This initiative plays a vital role in promoting land restoration, climate resilience, food security, and urban beautification.

This modern facility marks a significant milestone in strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving access to quality medical services in Ethiopia.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent regional leaders, including Awelu Abdi, Vice President of Oromia Regional State; Professor Netsanet Workineh, Head of the Oromia Health Bureau; Dr. Fayera Dhinsa, President of Salale University; healthcare professionals; and members of the local community. The event underscored the importance of public-private collaboration in enhancing tertiary healthcare and medical education.

🏆Gilando Biomedical Solution Honoured by the Ministry of Health.

On July 12, 2025, Gilando Biomedical Solutions PLC was formally recognized by Ethiopia’s Federal Ministry of Health for its outstanding service in biomedical equipment installation, maintenance, and technical support. The award, presented by Health Minister Dr Mekdes Daba at ALERT Comprehensive Hospital, celebrates Gilando’s impact across more than 40 hospitals, including 32 outside Addis Ababa, reaching all regions of Ethiopia.
Dr. Mekdes praised Gilando's professionalism and urged the public to embrace a healthy, community-centred summer inspired by Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed’s vision of unity and service.
