- a silence -
There’s a silence in me that doesn’t fit.
A silence that’s growing so loud I can’t hear it anymore.
A silence that pours out from the corners of my eyes—
tears so heavily light I can hardly bear them.
But just when I’m about to retreat,
to fold myself into the corner of the room,
to make myself smaller than I am—
just then, I find that space within me.
The space that allows me to breathe,
to breathe in motion,
to explore the stillness,
to find the glory in the silence—
a silence that speaks so loudly
it radiates from every cell of my body,
and echoes back a thousandfold
with the silence glowing from your glorious stillness.
