🩺 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Fiji has made strides in preventative care, which help protect children from diseases like pneumonia, meningitis, and cervical cancer.

🩺 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐬: Fiji has strengthened its commitment to child safety by passing the Child Care and Protection Act and the Child Justice Act, which includes measures to prevent violence and better protect children in need of care.

​WHY IT MATTERS: Research shows that time outdoors is the best natural way to prevent or slow down Myopia (nearsightedness). Natural light helps the eye grow correctly.
​ACTION: Aim for at least 1–2 hours of outdoor, non-screen play every day. Encourage them to look at distant objects (trees, the ocean, the mountains!) to give their eye focusing muscles a much-needed rest.

​𝟑. 📱 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐬 (𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎-𝟐𝟎-𝟐𝟎 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞)
​WHY IT MATTERS: Staring at screens or books up close for too long strains the eyes, leading to fatigue and headaches.
​ACTION: Teach the simple 20-20-20 Rule: Every 20 minutes of screen time, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds. Set a timer to make it a fun habit!
