Here is my first ever grown cucumber from the Haven garden. And on another hot day that they say will hit 38/40c where better to showcase it. Keep cool today and keep hydrated , I’m told that means water and not wine!

We’ve had a lovely stay in the U.K., visiting family & friends & sadly we returned for a dear friend’s funeral. Eaten meals out, had bbq’s, pub lunches , made sand castles , pushed little ones on swings . Drunk lots of expensive wine at £6.75 a bottle. And now it’s time to say thanks for the memories, the laughter , and the warm welcomes as we pack our bags to return to France .

We welcome new chicks at Haven on the Hill. They arrived one a day for 5 days. Not in time for Easter but into the Easter basket. We won’t know if they are boys or girls till they are around 14 days old.

Today we welcomed a local ladies group of 11 for Easter afternoon tea at Haven. Lovely lively group who left a great energy behind, but sadly no cakes , which were all homemade. Thank you ladies for your return visit today. See you again no doubt.

We are looking for teachers who run retreats abroad . We propose Friday 29th May – Monday 2nd June 2025.

We’d like to offer you a complimentary stay at our retreat venue for a long weekend, so you can explore the space, sample the services we provide, and decide if it’s a good fit for your future retreats. While your stay with us will be free of charge, we ask that you cover your flight costs.

Our retreat venue was established in 2017 and was featured on New Life on the Sun (Channel 4). Since then, we’ve hosted a wide range of retreats, including yoga, Pilates, and art-focused programs such as watercolor and botanical painting. We are proud to welcome teachers from the UK, USA, Australia, and the Netherlands, and have had many returning groups, with one even returning annually for the past five years!

If hosting a retreat at our venue interests you, we’d love to invite you to sample our offerings firsthand. During your visit, we’ll take the time to explore how we can collaborate to create your dream retreat. You’ll also have the opportunity to experience some of our most popular excursions, including wine tasting , and a traditional market.

We provide free airport transfers from Bergerac Airport and train station. Our meals are all vegetarian, made with love from homegrown vegetables and sourced from traditional French markets.

✨ Weekly Creative Art Classes at Haven on the Hill Retreat – Lalandusse, France ✨

As featured in French Property News (Dec 2024 issue), we’re excited to bring our popular creative retreats to a weekly workshop format!

Our 7-week courses are taught by First-Class Honours Fine Art and Mixed Media Artist, Donna Vokes and visiting artists, at the stunning Haven on the Hill retreat venue in Lalandusse.

FIND YOUR CREATIVITY: MIXED MEDIA
Engage in fun creative activities such as action painting, automatic drawing, blind contour drawing, fast sketches, group art games, and inventive material combinations. Explore paints, pencils, pastels, crayons, and ink while building surface textures with sandpaper, paste, and more.
At this retreat, you will:
Make inky marks with non-traditional tools.
Create movement using paper, drawing tools, and paints.
Build surface texture innovatively.
Develop samplers, sketches, and research.

NATURAL DYE & TEXTILE DESIGN
Discover Shibori dyeing, natural dye techniques, and Cyanotype printing. Craft textile projects like bags and accessorise. Learn clamp resist, twisting, and folding fabric for beautiful patterns.
At this retreat, you will:
Prepare dye vats and cloth.
Experiment with dyeing techniques.
Combine printing with embroidery.
Use hand and machine sewing.

CREATIVE PRINTMAKING
Explore printmaking through intaglio, relief, monoprinting, lino printing, collagraph, and kitchen lithography. Print on diverse surfaces like fabric and newspaper, and combine printmaking with stitch, collage, and bookmaking.
At this retreat, you will:
Print on unique surfaces.
Experiment with found objects.
Create using kitchen lithography.
