Do you exercise when you have period cramps or use it as a rest day?
As I was lying awake last night with horrible cramps, I started thinking about my relationship with exercise and my cycle and how it has shifted over the years.
I was actually thinking, “omg this is excruciating and I hate this so much” but the deeper thoughts kicked in after the Tylenol.
It feels like the options I grew up hearing were:
Rest completely OR push through it
But as I have gotten older and learned more about my body and movement, modifications have been a lovely middle ground.
At this point in my life and career, I am able move comfortably between all three options without guilt or shame because it’s never been that serious.
Consistency is the long game and rest is part of the program. Okay ILYSM ✨✌🏾
