Stress isn’t only what happens to us, it’s what our brain makes of it. 🧠

Every stressful experience follows 3 stages:
1. The event: something happens (a flight, a deadline, a doctor’s appointment).
2. The interpretation: our brain gives it meaning: “I’m not safe”, “I’m not in control”, “I can’t fail.”
3. The reaction, our body responds: tension, racing heart, shallow breathing…

That’s why two people can face the same situation and one stays calm while the other feels overwhelmed.
It’s not a question of strength, it’s about conditioning. Our stress responses are learned patterns and that means they can be retrained.

Lately, I’ve noticed something that makes me a bit sad…
Fewer smiles.
Especially in places where you’d expect them: at the bakery, at a front desk, at a café.
And yet, smiling is one of the most powerful & natural things we can do for ourselves and for others.

Neuroscience shows that a simple smile releases dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins: the same chemicals that lift our mood and calm our nervous system. Our brain doesn’t even know if it’s real or fake, it just reacts as if it were genuine.

This is exactly how hypnosis and mind training work: we send new, positive messages to our subconscious mind until it learns a different response.

So when you smile, even on a tired morning, you’re not pretending. You’re rewiring your brain. You’re training your mind to feel safe, open, and connected.

We often associate consistency with doing something every single day. But real consistency is about something else entirely. It’s about returning.

Our subconscious learns through repetition, not rigidity.
Every time we return to a habit, a goal, a practice, we remind our brain that this change is safe, familiar, and worth keeping.

This principle applies to everything we want to improve:
🌙 falling asleep more easily,
🍽️ eating with more awareness,
🏃‍♀️ moving our body again,
😌 regulating stress or fears,
🧩 breaking old patterns.

Missing a week doesn’t erase your progress, it’s part of the process. Because the moment you return, your mind continues the work.

If you’ve paused something that matters to you remember, you haven’t failed.
Your brain is still learning. You can always begin again.

Fall can feel strange.
You see pumpkins and planners filling up… and suddenly it’s:
- Deadlines
- Holidays
- End of year logistics
- Emotions you didn’t expect

If you don’t express what you want, people can’t guess it and it’s not because they don’t care.
It’s because your mind once learned that silence felt safer.

Studies show that around 60% of people find it difficult to express their needs or emotions clearly often out of fear of judgment, conflict, or rejection.
And I see it every week with my clients: brilliant, sensitive, thoughtful people who struggle to say what they truly think or feel.

IT IS NOT a personality flaw. It’s a pattern your subconscious built for protection. And just like any other pattern, it can be re-trained.
I’ve experienced this too, learning to express myself, little by little, through hypnosis and self-hypnosis.
