This is a season I didn’t see coming.

I tried to handle it the strong woman, natural route, but the symptoms were getting ridiculous. So I finally started estrogen patches a few weeks ago and the fatigue is next-level. Not the… I didn’t sleep enough tired… more like… why does walking feel like a full-time job?It’s odd being someone who is so active, airports and big hikes… and suddenly struggling with the basics.
But here we are. I’m trusting it gets better because it has to.

If anyone else is dealing with this early, you’re not the only one. I’m right here with you.

Ten years ago, I packed up my life, left what I couldn’t carry at my father’s house, and drove alone to Canmore, Alberta.
I barely spoke English, but I knew one thing, I wanted to live in the mountains.

So much has changed since then.
I don’t feel like the same person anymore.

Brave.
That’s the word that comes to mind.

Chasing freedom… but will I ever truly feel free?

Maybe I wasn’t running away after all, maybe I was running toward something I couldn’t name yet.

People say running away isn’t the answer,
but sometimes it gives you perspective.


And maybe, sometimes, that’s all we need.
