☀️ In summer, our bodies can naturally produce vitamin D thanks to the UVB rays of the sun.

This vitamin plays a key role in :

✅Immunity

✅Mood

✅Bone health

✅Prevention of infections

Gentle, gradual exposure to the sun, in the morning or late afternoon, for 10 to 20 minutes (depending on skin type), with arms and face uncovered, may be enough to stimulate vitamin D synthesis.

⚠️ But be careful: excessive exposure or exposure during the hottest hours (12pm-4pm) can be harmful to the skin.

You should also think about a diet that supports vitamin D: oily fish, eggs, mushrooms, cod liver oil, etc.

So enjoy the sun, but do it consciously! 😌

Did you know that our mind has immense power over our body? 💭

In naturopathy, we recognise that thoughts, beliefs and emotions influence our physical well-being. This manifests itself in two fascinating phenomena: the placebo effect and the nocebo effect. 🤯

🔹 The placebo effect is when we believe that a treatment (even a fictional one) will cure us and our body reacts positively, simply because of this belief. ✨

🔹 The nocebo effect, on the other hand, is when we fear that something will harm us and this fear actually worsens our state of health. It's the negative impact of an unfavourable belief or expectation. 🚫

🧘‍♀️ As naturopaths, we work to balance mind and body. Stress management, relaxation and a positive outlook on health are powerful tools for improving overall wellbeing. 🌱

✍️"No pleasure is a bad thing in itself, but the things which produce certain pleasures entail disturbances many times greater than the pleasures themselves."

This phrase, written by Epicurus over 2,000 years ago, is still as meaningful as ever.

😌 The pursuit of pleasure and well-being is normal and even beneficial, since vital actions provide a feeling of well-being and pleasure. But in the pursuit of pleasure, it is easy to fall into excess and seek pleasure at all costs.

🚨Not all pleasures are of equal value. Epicurus understood this well. Even if they are accompanied by a feeling of well-being or even euphoria, some pleasures do more harm than good to our bodies. In the long term, they generate fatigue and stress. This means that if we abuse these pleasures, our body suffers and weakens.

💚We need to experience the pleasure of living and not live for pleasure.

🚨Living for pleasure leads us to seek stimulation through food (sugary, grilled, salted, processed products), through the consumption of stimulants such as coffee or chocolate, through alcohol and drugs, through thrill-seeking activities, etc. The tiredness generated by these behaviours can lead to stress. With the fatigue generated by these repetitive behaviours, without artificial stimulation, there is no pleasure! It's a never-ending vicious circle.
Constantly seeking pleasure takes us away from ourselves, our inner life and true pleasure.
