Village Oyenano

OYENANO'S WISH FOR PEACE

In current times, the world is dictated by violence and separation amongst human beings. The recent pandemic weakened the most deprived of us. Today, there is another war which is killing people and deporting millions far from their home. Even if the nuclear threat is back on the table, isn't it a sign to remind us that the future of humanity is at stake? On top of that, our planet is being destroyed by meaningless ways of life which impoverishes most of its population and creates profound natural imbalances. Humanity is sick, a victim of an excess of individualism.

We the women, Oyenano Grandmothers, say no to war, no to violence, no to the destruction of our planet. We are totally revolted by so much suffering and cruelty affecting the world. Nothing can justify these self-destructing behaviors. This is not sustainable and we can not continue to accept participating in this model of society without issuing a cry of alarm.

In Gabon, women have always stood up to warrant peace and we have never known war in our country. The wisdom of the elders must be heard and spirituality must remain at the center of our existence. That's how we have always functioned.

We all have parents, grandparents and ancestors who suffered for us, who fought in order to leave us a better world. For our children and for the common good, we must prolong their efforts, learn from the past mistakes, and bring back peace at all levels of our existence.

Today we are sending out our wish which is a call for humanity to wake up.

In our heart, we feel there is a place where we can live together harmoniously, a place containing an infinite healing power. We can all reach that place. Thus, each one of us can have an impact and participate in changing the world. By becoming better human beings, by living a life that has a meaning to our heart, by loving ourselves and others, we can move mountains.

Love, empathy and awareness can be shared without limitation. By self-cultivating these qualities and spreading them around us, we are keeping a fire always going within us and we can ignite more fires among our brothers and sisters. Serving this greater purpose is our duty to and it starts in our everyday life. By saying hello to our neighbor, smiling to a stranger, and taking the time to listen to a child, we can make a big difference.

That is why we believe that the mission of the Oyenano Village is so important. Our goal is indeed to help people who want to find themselves, to reveal their full potential and to radiate their light to the world.

We are at a crossroad in humanity's history. The power to set up a golden age on this planet lies within our hands and it is up to each one of us as individuals to take concrete actions toward it.

This is our prayer.

Whatever our life situation is, today is the only time to take responsibility for the future we want.

In Peace,

The Oyenano Grandmothers are sending all their Love to you.

Dear Community,

The Grandmothers Wisdom Project is committed to preserving the lives of our elders, their traditions, communities, and the causes and projects they lead, support and work with.

In an effort to support the Grandmothers and their causes, the Grandmothers Wisdom Project has created a platform to foster the advancement of their charitable work to strengthen their circle of support.

Each of the Grandmothers works closely with organizations, projects and programs that are related to their mission and the work they are committed to. Donations to the Grandmothers Wisdom Project Causes will go directly to the Grandmothers’ projects and organizations.

Taking place around Earth Day, Grand Mä Offering: A Circle of Support is a two-day online free fundraising event, from April 23-24th that was created for the purpose of supporting our beloved elders, their causes and projects. The founding members of the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, families and special guests, will take us on a journey to learn about their work and mission.

We will be sharing more about all of these causes prior to the online fundraising event. We also encourage you to learn more about each of these important projects by visiting the causes page on our website at grandmotherswisdom.org/causes

A WORLD WATER DAY MESSAGE FROM MONA POLACCA 💧

We live in water in our mother’s womb. Moments before we come into this world, the water of our mother’s womb gushes out, and we follow behind. That is why the Hopi call water our first foundation of life.

It is no coincidence that the Earth has the same percentage of water as the human body does.

It is also not a coincidence that, as the sacred waters of the planet - Mother Earth’s blood - are becoming dangerously polluted, we are at the same time forgetting our innate connection to the Sacred Universe, the only understanding that will save us.

If we consciously greet the water as we drink and bathe in it, for instance, we begin to have a relationship with water.

We know the Creator can bless us with answers through water. That element can help us with understanding. The more we honor and feel gratitude toward water, the greater the assistance we will receive from it in our lives.

Because of our connection to the elements, we also have the capacity to heal the waters, just as the waters can heal us.

Quantum physics is proving what indigenous people have known all along, that prayer can change the pollution in the waters. The Grandmothers pray every day for the waters of the Earth to become purified again.

Water Blessing from the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers:

Instructions

💧Prepare a bowl of clean water or stand beside a body of water.

💧Please pray for the water in apology; for polluting and disrespect. Then offer prayers of love, gratitude and respect.

💧Hold both of your hands toward the water, from your heart your energy will be projected into the water through your hands. You can close your eyes during this process.

💧Please intend that the vibrations, which now fill the water, will spread to the waters all over our Mother Earth.

💧You may also add your own prayer to the water, meditation, chanting, music, songs, dancing, and so on, intending the same purpose.

💧Pour a little bit of the water in your hand, with a loving thought, sprinkle a little water away from you (as in spreading seeds), then drink the remaining water with a feeling of gratitude.

We thank all those who join us as we pray for the life of water for our future generations.

This two-day online free fundraising event taking place around Earth Day, we will have the participation of founding members of the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, their families and special guests.

Grand Mä Offering will give us a rare opportunity to go deeper into the mission that each of the Grandmothers’ have committed their lives to. During this event, the Grandmothers and special guests will share and present projects and causes that are close to their hearts. It is an important moment in time that we begin to return to the ways of giving and receiving as a natural part of our circle of life. Grand Mä Offering is a free online event for the continuation and preservation of the wisdom and knowledge of our dear elders and in return providing them with resources to sustain their projects and organizations.

As we continue to grow as a community we have the opportunity to receive guidance from our beloved elders and with that the responsibility to support them. At this time we are also creating the Grandmothers’ Essential Needs Fund which will provide direct assistance to their households, helping with the impact of the continued pandemic. Donations will be collected and distributed evenly among all the Grandmothers of the Council.
