✨ Looking after your own wellbeing is just as important as looking after others ✨

This week I had another Kinetic Chain Release (KCR) and Cupping treatment with Kim's KCR at the Grampian MS Therapy Centre
I genuinely can’t describe how much this treatment helps me feel more balanced and realigned. Living with neurological symptoms can sometimes mean my legs feel unsettled in the evenings, with twitching that can make it difficult to properly relax.

Since starting KCR, I have noticed a real improvement – my body feels more aligned, movement feels easier, and my legs feel calmer.
KCR works on the body as a whole, helping to restore alignment so muscles, joints and nerves can function more effectively. Combined with cupping, the treatment helps relieve tension and encourages better circulation.

As someone who spends a lot of time supporting others through first aid and mental health training, I know how important it is to also take time to look after our own health and wellbeing.

Thank you Kim for your ongoing support – I always leave feeling more comfortable, more balanced, and more able to move freely.

If you live with MS, chronic pain, muscular tension or simply feel “out of alignment”, this treatment may be worth exploring.

To book with your Local Accredited KCR Practitioner please Call, PM or Text Kim on Mobile : 07834988253
Or contact the centre directly on 01224 771105.

Near Miss Day – Monday 23 March
Have you ever had a near miss?
Maybe you almost slipped on a wet floor…
Nearly tripped over a trailing cable…
Or caught yourself just before a fall…

A near miss is an incident that could have resulted in injury or illness, but didn’t.........this time!

Near misses are important warning signs that something isn’t quite right. By recognising them early, we can take action to prevent future accidents and keep everyone safe.

Common near misses include:
⚠️ Slips, trips and falls
⚠️ Unsafe lifting
⚠️ Blocked walkways
⚠️ Faulty equipment
⚠️ Poor housekeeping
⚠️ Distractions or rushing

Taking a moment to report or fix a near miss today could prevent a serious injury tomorrow.

💡 Tip: Encourage your team to speak up about hazards – creating a positive safety culture helps protect everyone.

👉 Have you ever experienced a near miss at work or at home? What did you learn from it?

It’s Friday… and Harris has officially clocked off 🐕

No emails. No meetings. No responsibilities. Just snacks, walks, and judging my life choices.

Unfortunately, emergencies don’t take Fridays off.

Whether it’s at work, at home, or out enjoying the weekend, knowing first aid means you can step in with confidence when someone needs help.

Harris’s emergency response plan is mostly “look concerned and hope for treats”… yours can be better.

Have a brilliant weekend everyone, stay safe and enjoy the well-earned rest 🐾🐾

I’m speaking at Subsea Expo 2026

Have you ever said “I’m so stressed”? Recognising when stress becomes a problem.

Stress doesn’t always come from work, but it often shows up there first. Life pressures outside of work can quietly build up and later affect performance, decision-making, relationships, and wellbeing.

At Subsea Expo, I’ll be delivering a 1-hour conference session exploring how stress develops, how to recognise when it becomes a problem, and why unmanaged stress, from any source, can have a knock-on effect both at work and at home.

The session will cover:
✅ Recognising early signs of stress
✅Understanding how external pressures affect work and family life
✅Practical, realistic ways to reset and respond earlier.

Stress can be helpful - resilience is about returning to baseline before strain and burnout set in.

📍 P&J Live – Blue Conference Theatre
🕐 13:00–14:00
If you’re attending Subsea Expo, I’d love to see you there.

🎉 First Training Course of 2026 Complete! 🎉
We kicked off 2026 with a private First Aid + Forestry course for a brilliant team of colleagues from Hayfield Fencing , delivered right here at our training facility in Aberdeen.

It was a great day packed with learning, covering everything from minor bleeding and everyday injuries through to life-threatening bleeding emergencies… and yes, choking too!

📸 One of today’s highlights was Luke Hayfield , Team Lead, using the Act+Fast, LLC Anti-Choking Vest to practise exactly what to do if this situation happened in real life. Hands-on, realistic training builds confidence, and confidence saves lives.

And of course, it wasn’t all hard work — the refreshments went down a treat too, with fresh fruit, pastries, and biscuits proving to be a big hit ☕🍊🥐

Thank you to the whole Hayfield Fencing team for your engagement, questions, and commitment to keeping your colleagues safe.

👉 Thinking about First Aid training for your team in 2026?
Whether it’s workplace, forestry, or bespoke training tailored to your industry, I’d love to help.

Anaphylaxis Kitt – A Step Forward in Emergency Preparedness
On my way down to the Lake District for a short break, I spotted this Emergency Allergy Medication Kitt in a service station.

We’re used to seeing AEDs (defibrillators) in public places – but it’s far less common to see an Anaphylaxis Kitt like this!

For those with severe allergies, carrying an adrenaline auto-injector is essential. But in reality, someone may:
✅ Have forgotten theirs at home
✅ Experience a first-time severe reaction
✅ Need an additional dose of medication
In these situations, having access to an emergency kit could be truly life-saving.

A fantastic initiative – especially in busy eateries, service stations, and venues with high footfall, because first aid isn’t just about knowledge – it’s also about having the right equipment available when it’s needed most.

👉 I’m curious to hear from others: do you think more workplaces, restaurants, and hospitality venues should consider installing these kits as part of their first aid provision?

💜 September is National Su***de Prevention Month 💜
This month is a powerful reminder that we all play a part in breaking the silence around mental health.

Sometimes the smallest conversation can make the biggest difference.
Su***de prevention is not just about awareness—it’s about creating safe, supportive environments where people feel able to speak openly and seek help.

At First Aid at Work Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire, we’re proud to play a role in this by equipping people with the knowledge and confidence to support others through our Mental Health First Aid training.

Together, we can reduce stigma, encourage open conversations, and remind people they are never alone.

Accompanied are charities and helplines that offer free, confidential support for anyone who might need it. Please feel free to share this resource.
