🌟 Accessible Spectra - Quiet Tour 2026 🌟
The Ninjas once again, are working really hard behind the scenes to ensure EVERY night at Spectra is accessible for as many as possible alongside the team at Spectra Festival and Aberdeen City Council🙌
Always striving for more, this year and again with grateful thanks to Spectra for trusting the Ninjas, we are going once again going to host a Quiet Tour on Wednesday 4th February between 5.40pm - 7.30pm (please do not arrive any sooner, especially if your loved ones struggle to wait!). 😎
We are aware many people may be interested in this event, but we do need to be clear that the guest list spaces are extremely limited (or the tour wouldn’t be quiet!) and there will be disappointment as not everyone will secure a space. Please . 🙂
To be as fair as possible, places on the Quiet Tour will be allocated via a lottery process. There are three ways to enter the draw:
1. Complete an entry on google form by clicking on this link (you need a google account)- https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf0ZACyvMsjNZp_JjFUmLInSJgVT1_FVo9Ox8hwN_25ofFI7A/viewform?usp=header
2. Call Ninja HQ on 01224 539393 (lines are open from Tuesday – Saturday 10am-2pm)
3. Come into Ninja HQ in Trinity Centre and complete an entry with one of our helpful Ninjas
One person will require one space regardless of whether carer, participant, parent or baby! 🤓 Duplicate entries will be removed to ensure everyone gets an equal chance.
Entries open today Friday 23 January and will close at 5pm on Friday 30th January. The draw will take place on Monday 1 February and you will be notified as quickly as possible if you were successful. If you don’t get a phone call, then unfortunately you have not secured spaces.
‼️ Why do we have to apply for spaces for this tour?
Spectra isn’t open to the public at this time and the installations will be security manned – unless your identified as being on the tour you will be refused access.
‼️Can’t I just turn up on the night and wonder around?
This will be a fully escorted tour with a large team of volunteers giving up their time to make this session happen. As the installations are security manned you wouldn’t be able to access the sites which may still be under construction at this point as well as all the roads still being open.
‼️I didn’t get a space, can’t you do a quiet session every night?
Once Spectra opens to the public, it’s not possible to host private tours around the installations. This year, the Ninjas have already committed to being at the festival every night to support the event.
‼️Why are spaces allocated via a lottery process
This process ensures that people are not excluded due to digital access, online speed or being unavailable to book at certain times. Our aim is to make the process as accessible as possible to everyone.
‼️ Can't the times be earlier?
Spectra is a festival of light; the timings are in place for when it becomes dark in Aberdeen to fully appreciate all the installations in their fantastic sensory glory!
‼️Wait! Am I meant to be booking for the other nights too?
No, just this Quiet Tour so we can manage the numbers appropriately – for the other, main nights of Spectra we will see you at the Accessibility Desks, further information will be released about this in the coming days.
‼️ What if I need a wheelchair or mobility aid?
Great question! Our friends at Shopmobility can help you out. Subject to availability, they will be able to hire you a variety of aids to assist you on the tour and we can even ensure they are at Ninja HQ for you to collect on the evening. Call/text them on 01224 254338 or 07436 102 939 between 1000 and 1700 from Tuesday to Saturday for further information and booking.
‼️This is amazing! How can we support We Too! ?
Thanks so much for asking! We really need some more Corporate Supports - parent/carers, if you're connected to companies that support local charities with a huge impact, especially to help sponsor our upcoming Awards Night, Chiefty would love to hear from you. 💚
