“I would 100% recommend Ryan as a PT. He uses his in depth knowledge and expertise to design and constantly update programmes to meet my goals . My core fitness and strength have really improved in weekly sessions that push me in In an enjoyable and motivational way”

"I have been working with Ryan over the past 2 years with 2 sessions a week, one focusing on strength and condition and one on cardiovascular fitness. In both areas I have achieved significant and sustainable progress as Ryan has continued to push and develop me over time. I am more flexible, can lift heavier weights and have a better general level of fitness. I do this while spending less, but much more focused time in the gym rather than working out on my own. In addition, Ryan has given me a programme to use on my own and when I'm travelling away from home and he has given me insight and help with nutrition. Finally, he is highly personable, flexible and easy to spend the time with! Less time in the gym with way better and sustaining results!"

Hi I’m Ryan,

I’ve been personal training for 12 years and thoroughly enjoy helping people lead healthier lives through exercise prescription and nutritional advice. My exercise background stems from my love of participating in sports, but as my family has grown and work commitments increasing, sport is now reserved for watching on the sofa…

I have gained vast experience working for a leading Health and fitness provider where I supported clients to lose weight, improve fitness and build muscle. I also work in the NHS where I provide exercise as a therapeutic intervention for individuals experiencing acute mental ill health.

I have grown to appreciate the challenges we all can face in looking after our physical health and the profound effect it can have on our mental health. Personally, life’s challenges have definitely made exercise and healthy eating hard for me to maintain, but it can be done and it also can be fun, and I’m here to show you how!

I'm a little bit different...

Some of you may know my journey, others maybe not.

In my career, I've been fortunate to work for 2 of the largest health care providers Nuffield Health and the NHS - CNWL.
I've been privileged to work with a vast array of clients with such varying needs.

Till this day, one of my greatest achievements is being part of this particular ladies journey and her battle with MS. We started our journey at the point where she was a few months on from losing feeling down the left side of her body. At then end of the year we worked together, she was able to walk un aided and on some really good days, was even able to jog! That year my team at Nuffield held a PT awards ceremony to celebrate and reward all of our clients. I put forward my nomination for this wonderful lady and she won PT client of the year 🏆. It was a little gesture for all her commitment, but meant soo much to her and also me.

Currently I apply my skill set at a mental health hospital within CNWL.
Day to day I am in a position to support patients make better physical health and nutritional changes to their lifestyle. For some patients, this is first time they've been able to focus and work on themselves.
A significant moment for me here was supporting a gentlemen lose weight so that he was able to tie his own shoes. I know, this is not a common 'fitness' goal most people have, but for this gentleman it meant gaining independence again.

I still thoroughly enjoyed supporting people to lose weight, get fitter, get stronger, it's still a big part of my day to day. I just wanted to highlight that being physically fit and healthy means something different to us all. We don't have to be the next fitness model or world's strongest man or women. But having optimal health, improving the quality of our lives and in some cases life expectancy, exercise can play a huge role.
You owe it to yourself to be healthy, so go out there and do it in whatever form you most enjoy.

RWILLIAMS Personal training offers 1:1 and group exercise packages alongside nutritional advice and guidance to help you achieve your weight loss and fitness goals. Sessions can be done face to face or remotely over video call, making it both easy and convenient for you not to miss a session.

Why focus on building muscle?

A loss in muscle mass can lead to:

1. Lower Testosterone
2. Higher Cortisol response
3. Decrease insulin sensitivity
4. Reduced strength and mobility
5. Increased risk of falls and fractures particularly in older adults.

Building muscle can:

1. Raise testosterone
2. Reduce all cause mortality better than
any other form of exercise
3. Increase metabolism (help you burn
more calories)
4. Increase bone density
5. Improve strength and mobility which
can make everyday activities easier.

Strength training 2-3 times a week is enough to reap these benefits.

What are you waiting for!!?

If you have any questions around training or nutrition feel free to send me a message.
