⚠️ Mini Eggs Choking Safety Warning ⚠️
With Easter coming up, just a quick reminder for parents and carers:
Mini Eggs (and similar hard, round sweets) can be a serious choking risk for young children.
Because they are small, smooth, and hard, they can easily block a child’s airway if swallowed whole.
✅ Safety tips:
• Mini Eggs are not recommended for children under 4
• Always supervise children while eating sweets
• Cut larger sweets in half for older kids if needed
• Encourage slow eating and proper chewing
• Know basic first aid for choking (NHS recommends back blows & chest thrusts)

Currently UKHSA are dealing with the meningitis outbreak in Kent. They are currently coordinating a national response to the outbreak but this does not mean a national NHS incident has been declared. We await further instruction. NHS services continue to operate as normal.

Currently there are no additional vaccination programmes advised in addition to the usual childhood immunisation programme.

If you think you may have symptoms of meningitis, don’t hesitate to seek medical help by contacting your GP or calling NHS 111.
