Did you know this fact?
The ear pressure in the middle ear is generally the same as the pressure outside of the body. The Eustachian tube, which connects the middle ear and the back of the nose and upper throat, helps equalise air pressure on both sides of the ear drum. By swallowing or yawning the tube opens up and allows air to flow into or out of the middle ear, this relieves the pressure. You might be familiar with this when your ears "pop" on an aeroplane.
