Easter Sunday evening trainimg.

My gym, my pants.

170kg Deadlift for reps is still x2 my own bodyweight.

The lift or its form can be critiqued but not at the expense or fact irs a stable lift. Its about avaipable range thats stable not perfect form.

A good lift is a non injured lift.

Unless you have had blunt force trauma, shot or stabbed looking at a single joint or point of pain as THE issue for your 'ills' is pretty irrelevant.

The majority, over 80% of clients, who i see have had that approach applied and it hasnt succeeded because irs faulty 1980s or 90s thinking. At best.

We have moved on significantly since then. Unforrtunarely many havent.

Exercise and movement DOESNT cause issues.

Poor movement patterns, form and ex*****on will at the very least contribute.

There are NO unsafe movement.

Only appropiate movements depending on desired outcomes.

The biggest contributor to injury........

Knee, although considered a simple joint its a highly complex region in terms of knowing its position in space relative to place (propioception).

It acts differently to how its often described and has to manage the immense loads efficiently that are transferred through from the highly variable and adaptive foot or the power house of the Hip.

What goes, "wrong" at either end affects the middle. Hence reducing this to a localised issue is highly irrelevant.

Most people who have problems AT the knee DONT have problems because of the knee.

Look upstream and downstream because the knee is a simple hinge even when it isnt........

The issue with the Pelvic floor is........

Its only a floor in a squat and since we dont, "train" the, "floor" in a Squat, its a suspended, dynamic, pressurised system then sitting doing kegels due to Pelvic Diaphragm issues are mostly redundant if not entirely.

Its a vastly and astoundingly outdated concept proposed of course by a man.

To not update this thinking is similar to the thinking that Joseph Pilates solved all "Core" issues with Contrology, which incidentally fell on its arse and was only saved by Ron Fletcher, it should perhaps be called Fletcher Method instead of Pilates not that his work was not valuable but again its an evolving model or should be........

Step in the Classical and Contempories to battle that one off like they like too......

"Joseph didnt teach the side plank you fool so it doesnt exist otherwise the adulterer and Child abandoner would have taught it". (Threw the last bit in for moral context on a moral standpoint, atop the hill of Morality).

Re train the issue, not the structure.

Train the person, not the problem.

Its not right or wrong, proving or disproving a previous diagnosis from varying experts in their associated fields.

It is about optimising the kinetic and kinematic chain, improving safety through neurological stimulus and loading effectively.

Then seeing where and how the body reacts to load and following the bread crumbs.

Alot of the work isnt literal, its subjective and objective but ALWAYS consistent.

And we arrive at an outcome. ALWAYS.
